We created quite a few. The best chance didn't result in a shot though because Mata fluffed it completely. Really poor game from him at 10.
Thought he was good first half. A little off in the second though bhad his moments. Looks confident and its good to see him running at players, even if it didn't always come off. Much better than someone dropping deeper and deeper and deeper every game tbh.
On a positive looking at tonight's results atleast City got beat at home by Juve, that could be a very harmful defeat for them, especially when they also have Sevilla in there group. We have a much easier group, and we still have all our home games to come, so although it's frustrating I still think we should still qualify comfortably
Maybe. I saw him unable to control the ball quite a few times tbh in great positions. I agree about his strength though. In terms of his link up play, I thought that was more down to Depay than Martial. There was one point where Depay put a ball through to him and Martial laid it off for Depay to shoot. On the face of it, it looked good, but if you see it again his touch was too heavy and Depay had to reach for the shot and it became a poor finish as a result. There were other incidents as well. I can accept that once, twice or three times from a young player in his 2nd game, but it happened far too often imo.
So, the getting rid of three centre forwards and relying on Fellaini as an option still looking like a really great plan. The season will ultimately stand or fail on that decision, whoever made it. We'll fall short, we just won't score enough goals. Gutter for Shaw. Horrific.
Losing 3 out of 5 league games after spending £300million can't be good for confidence either. That's football!
Not have the PSV crowd for one thing. They were really up for it tonight and no doubt gave PSV players a lift.
You been UIR? It was pretty noisy when I went. Just seen the Shaw injury, horrific. Shame, he was your best player against the Champions last season at the Bridge
Its all mind games to take pressure off his players, much like Mourinho calling Chelsea a little horse. It doesn't have any effect on confidence
