I think this is the only time in history where the result could be legitimately overturned. I bet the club could argue first the decision was 100% incorrect, inarguably, and that in fact 8 minutes was also incorrect. Genuinely, is that a legal possibility? If we prove beyond any reasonable doubt that not only was the penalty decision completely wrong but that also time was up so we won 1-0? Hell, I’d have Nick on it.
Robbed of a win by the "we don't want Kylian being eliminated from the Champions League" crew at UEFA. UEFA are c*nts
Once they do this even once then we'll have it all the time .. nobody will know if they've won. It's absolute non starter.
Just grin and bare it tbh. Still a good chance of going through - we are ahead of PSG on H2H so even if they draw against Dortmund and we beat Milan we go though to the next round. Basically we'd need to get a result against Milan no matter how you slice it only difference is now we are reliant on Dortmund getting one over the rich French farmers but Dortmund will want top spot in the group hopefully so won't chuck the kids out against PSG. Do the business vs Milan and we can get some more stamps in the passport next year one way or another. CL - amazing, more than you could have hoped for, EL - better chance of winning a trophy. A point in 2 weeks time will do for me! Financially it is better to qualify for the CL though as you earn more money in the last 16 in the CL as you would for winning the EL. *Don't know why they are Euros and Dollars but for anyone who can be bothered to work it out its about 0.9 Euro to the Dollar but I've done the pertinent ones: CL Stage - Prize Money Winner - €20m Runner-up - €15.5m Semifinalists - €12.5m Quarterfinalists - €10.6m Round of 16 - €9.6m ($10.5m/£8.3m) EL Stage - Prize Money Round of 16 $1.32m Quarterfinal $1.98m Semifinal $3.07m Final $5.05m Winners $9.44m (€8.5m/£7.4m)
True, but more money available to help with FFP and possibly more importantly, the longer we are in competition (CL or EL) our points coefficient increases which helps seeding for future seasons
Also the deeper we go in the CL the more leverage we have in regards to "sponsors" and how much they could/would/should be paying us...
I wouldn't worry about it mate because I don't think the club were planning on being in it yet anyway. The long term plan will have remained. Writing this season off is just around the corner potentially and then they'll come again next season more than likely.
I see the "shagged their sisters 6 in a row" tramps are enjoying last night. Must be scary knowing that the next time we play each will likely be a cricket score for us. That twat on VAR stood down is all you need to know about last night. They ****ed up.
They're still absolutely dieing inside... they will be slowly dissected for the remaining years of their lives.
The way things are looking with fatigue and injuries I don't think an inevitable run of defeats is far more likely. The players are all absolutely knackered mate, it's only just turning December.
