The question that never got answered (and never will) about Delgado is where did the £3.25m we paid for him go? It was rumoured his club "Necaxa" only ever received £0.5m.

But I'm sure Mr Lowe would have never ever dealt with dodgy south american agents, ahem.

was it the same agent then that we used for the sale of Bridge, Beatts and Crouch????

No, but I think he was the same agent who sold us "The Torpedo" Arias as well. Who turned out to be "The Tortoise"

This doesn't really qualify for the first part of your question as a "new" player, but in terms of being surprised it certainly does:

I have never seen a youngster totally dominate games as much as Bale did in his breakthrough season. Totally awesome.

Yep, awesome to the point of embaressing at times. Everything went through him that season. Derby crocking him stopped us going up.

In regards to Delgado Wee Gordon did not know anything about the purchase until he turned up at the dell. He too was another sulker and complained to low when Gordy wouldn't play him. Gordy gave the reason as Delgado not being up to speed with the English league. When Delgado went home at the end of the season it would seem he decided he wanted extra leave time and wouldn't come back until he was ready. By the time he did come back Pre season was just about over........He wasn't up to much....stating he was injured although we let him travel with his international team only to discover he was not so injured as he actually played for his country. It was obvious the man could not be trusted you could understand Gordy's reluctance to play him.
