To be fair to Lotus, Saward makes a habit of using his blog to diss Fernandes's rivals and doesn't mention his connections in the articles. He does his best to give the impression that Fernandes is a stranger to him. In his response, Saward denies claiming that Dany Bahar had left Group Lotus. Why bother when the Lotus statement specifically says Tony Fernandes is responsible for that rumour?
Lotus said:
In addition Proton retains the rights to purchase 10% of the F1 team.
Their reaction may not have been the best but the knives really seem to be out for Lotus now. On top of all the speculation about their future, it seems they are also being set up as fall-guys if something goes wrong in Bahrain. Just because they're paranoid, doesn't mean no one's out to get them.
This was all over my local news yesterday and today.
aparently Proton are not selling Lotus and they dont know where that lead came from...
On the other hand ministers believe this is a lie and proton are running lotus to the ground and will either sell to a interested chinese firm or put it into administration or liquidation.
