I'm not sure what this means for the F1 team, but it seems likely that the new owners of Proton, DRB-Hicom, are going to sell Lotus Cars. Lotus has never made a profit in the 15 years since Proton bought it and it appears that DRB don't want to plough any more money into it. One rumour is that Genii may buy it.

DRB Hicom GP? Catchy.

Bit of a blow to Lotus, especially given their ambitious plans for the next few years.

Lotus have reacted pretty badly to the rumours. Check this out, it's pretty childish. Wouldn't be surprised to see some heads roll at their PR department.

Can't wait to see what Joe Saward's reaction will be. I'm kind of glad this has turned up, I think we can all agree that the whole Bahrain thing was starting to get on our collective tits (excuse the phrasing).

Seems a bit far if it is a joke, left themselves open to come backs, after all its fair game now <laugh>

I had a thought over the weekend, I wonder if it's possible to start or buy an F1 team using crowd sourcing for funding. May be an opportunity for us here if we could raise the ash that way :-)
