An old man of Bates' build ("exact" is a little far fetched given the nature of the photos) is often the build of men that age, especially if they can afford to sit in the Executive Boxes. Yet the Executive seats have always been in the opposite stand. Have they moved the Director's or Executives' seats to the East Stand Upper? Businessmen often wear suits on corporate days out, there is no proof whether they were regular or not, and a trip to ER for people who have loads of money might often mean a trip to the shop. But I don't hang around with these types and have never been in a corporate/directors box, so I am stabbing in the dark here. As I have stated, I am not saying it wasn't him nor am I arguing against your conclusion which could be correct, just that the photos posted are so bad they are completely inconclusive to anyone who is trying to see what you see but just can't fathom it. Must be my eyesight although the zoom is pretty good on my computer
1. That is 99.9% (IMO) Bates. 2. He is sitting next to someone who is almost definitely of Middle Eastern descent, who was part of a group who asked for scarves to be bought from the club shop. 3. The FL chairman + others were in the row in front, 100%.
Now that is a much better photo and provides conclusive proof that a) Bates was there b) some bloke and his missus - mediterranean or Middle Eastern or North African or South Asian, if you can make an accurate guess on their nationality I would be amazed c) some old white people d) Prince Philip. Hang on. Wasn't he meant to be in hospital with a bladder infection?
