Dev Probably wont be far from what we'll see from him tomorrow. It's interesting watching the various discussions. A lot of the Rangers fans think they're getting done by the SPL and a lot of the Celtic fans think the SPL have done this to help Rangers.
It looks as if the authorities have realised too late that the punishments for financial mismanagement are far too lenient and are attempting to put things right before Rangers get their act together. I don't actually see what the hurry is, by the looks of things with Whyte, Ellis, HMRC and so on, it could be years before Rangers can compete even without harsh (but fair) penalties being imposed
Rangers fans are in melt down over this news , they think it was an spl set up to announce the new rules the day they intended to name their new owner .
Then you read Celtic and Aberdeen forums saying these rules are set up to save Rangers and some say they will set foot in a Scottish football ground again .

They want to know what you think first Rebel, if you think its good news they will hate it and vice versa.
Read some twitter pish from a few Rangers nutjob bloggers. The opinion seems to be that, as a result of these potential new rules, they want Rangers to join the SFL and work their way up. This apparently will destroy all the other SPL clubs (who all hate Rangers of course) so that by the time Rangers get promotion the league will be completely ****ed. It's an interesting plan
They probably don't understand the expression cut off your nose to spite your face. Three years with no Europe, no TV money, playing in front of three men and a dog and seriously lowered sponsorship and advertising revenue, and they think they'll emerge back into the SPL in three years ready to take their crown back. It;s criminal that there are people that genuinely stupid among us. It really is.
To be honest those proposals don't really go far enough. We'll all know this is because rangers are going down the newco route, but what sort of deterrent is that. It should be automatic relegation for any proposed newco. Hugh keevins often argues that no rangers means no sky tv deal, but he's failing to see the bigger picture. The thing is, it's the banks that are against these pre pack administrations as there normally left footing the bill. If the banks and creditors loose confidence in Scottish footbal and its failure to regulate itself, then i can''t see them willing to put anymore money into it. In the very likely event they will actually put other clubs into administration as they will be scared of recieving nothing. Of course on the other hand sending rangers into the 3rd division will scare of sky and ultimately cause the smaller clubs into voluntary administration. The best solution would be automatic relegation in the event of a newco. That way sky will still stay and a proper deterrent is put in place to stop hearts, kilmarnock etc following suit. Its also worth noting that ticketus bank is HBOS, who happen to have alot of money invested in scottish football and will be none to happy at rangers fc and there actions.
I think the decent Rangers fans should walk away from the club. Surely Rangers cannot expect any backing from the ordinary decent folk that go to Ibrox every other week. If the same people continue to attend Rangers games, it proves that the Celtic fans who questioned all along about the decency of the Rangers support was right the whole time. Only cheats and con-men would support Rangers any more. We will see what the real Rangers fans are made of.
I just wonder what UEFA will make of all of this? HMRC are going after clubs in the premier league next for a lot more than they went after rangers for. Due to our insolvency laws we could be seeing alot of newco's springing up. As it isn't about being guilty it's about dumping the liability. I think Uefa might remind the spl of fiorentina to maintain the precedent as a warning to those clubs in England.
The Rangers Supporters Assembly today expressed dismay at the SPL proposals for rule changes for “Financial Fair Play” President Andy Kerr said “I am appalled by the timing of this announcement. When the Club entered administration we fully expected to have the existing rules applied in a fair and proper manner. The proposed changes seek to move the goalposts at a critical time and seriously affect the plans of those seeking the buy the club. Our fans are extremely angry and we all seriously question the motives and timing of the proposed changes. We will be asking searching questions of the SPL and we will consider what other action may be appropriate before the SPL meet to consider the changes on 30 April”
Maybe he could call for them all to take Union Jacks to the next home game. That would sort out the SPL. They need David Murray now, anytime in the past when Rangers had a problem with the SPL, he called them to a meeting and told them it would be Rangers way or no way. He then appointed a Director of Rangers on the SPL board to keep an eye on them for Rangers. Whyte is gone so he is f...ing useless when he is needed.
Some guy on the phone in tonight blamed Peter Lawell and asked why he was even in a position of power at the SFA. It was pointed out this was the SPL proposing these changes/punishments and Peter Lawell was simply Celtic rep on the SPL and that every other club had a representative. Several other callers bleated in a similar vein about everyone being determined to punish them I find it very amusing to hear fans - who for years have taunted Celtic and it's "Paranoid" fans - suddenly make unfounded accusations about the SFA/SPL and how everyone is out to get Rangers. The changes proposed were long overdue and perfectly fair, as they are obviously designed to stop clubs simply bumping their creditiors when they get into financial trouble. Do Rangers and Duff and Phelps actually think that these changes should be postponed until they laugh off their debt and then punish the next club who does anything wrong? That's what they seem to be suggesting.
