At this stage? With three to go up, including potentially the team that finishes sixth? Absolutely I would if the price is right. That Wolves price is very, very tempting to me. It's November, and things will change hugely by the spring. In 2007/08 WBA were third at this stage, Stoke 9th and City 11th. Watford were 8 points clear at the top.
I took the bairns to see Sunderland vs Southampton yesterday, we would have beaten either team - it was bloody dreadful. Played right, with a fair share of luck and we would be mid-table PL.
It was great to see some of the touches from Tommy H yesterday. The one he let roll up his shin and flick it over the LB's head for Elmo/akpom to run onto was sublime. How can a player hit a shot like that with his weaker foot and never blast a free kick in??
Everybody said we would be mid table last year but we conceded a few last minute equalisers against top teams and played appalling against some bottom sides and Leicester had their run and we went down. I can agree that we should be better than Sunderland but dont think we will be as good as Southampton. Some clubs are worried about spending too much money and so are risking relegation. Outside the top 6 - inside if you include Chelsea - it seems a bit of a lottery.
The problem with free kicks is that he doesn't bend the ball, he hits it straight, so for free kicks he doesn't get round or over the wall..
You would think with free kicks the players would practice until they could do it properly before they were let loose in a real match
@richardajkeys: Delighted to see Steve Bruce back on top. A good guy & top class operator. Why doesn't he ever get a mention when big jobs come up? United?
Why doesn't Richard Keys ever get a mention when big TV presenting jobs come up? Oh, right. That. And then that. And that other thing too.
He gets mentioned all the time for the Fulham job and that's huge because it's in London don't you know?
Its only taken the manager 2 years to find out he's better in a more advanced role, this is why we haven't seen more Jay-Jay esque skill or goal attempts from him. Now he's banged one in the floodgates might open, again if he's played in a more advanced role.
