With the Birmingham and West Ham games off today it's a chance for City to make some ground.

Projecting recent form to points total gives a final table of:

    Birmingham 92
    West ham 90
    Reading 85
    Blackpool 84
    Brighton 80
    Hull City 76
    Southampton 76
    Cardiff 74

The thing is that the form of most teams will change quite a lot before the end. TBH looking at that table I can't see Reading, Blackpool and Brighton finishing above us, whereas Saint and Cardiff might.
Finished Blackpool 1-1 Pompey so another good result.

    Yep, on current form.

NO, but there's loads of positives, I was proud of the lads plus assorted other Nigisms.

Yes,but we are not gonna drop down dramatically...Well,I think we won't.
We have been on a horrible run of form recently but I don't think West Ham,Cardiff,Birmingham are better than us.We just have to keep consistant,if we do that we will go up in 1st place.

Saints and West Ham must have an expectation of going up automatically after being up there all season, but that's a dangerous mind-set to have because sometimes it leads to panic when a team starts to slip.
There's usually one team that comes from nowhere like Reading last season and there's usually one team that nose-dives.

We've got great team spirit at Southampton and a superb manager, these two factors will help us go up this season.

To be fair so do we and quite a few other clubs, but I'm not going to say we 'will' go up - I hope we do though.

Form is temporary and Class is permanant. I expect for West Ham(with regret) to beat Southampton 2moz. But Hull to win @ Birmingham. March will be a big month full stop. Only after March will the picture become more clear. Its looking bleak in the midlands at the moment and Hull City to darken the mood even further on tuesday night. :emoticon-0116-evilg

Not at all. Just have this nasty feeling that West Ham will click into gear even though i would prefer them to fail.

I meant the City prediction! For the record, I think West Ham will win the league and Birmingham to finish 2nd

I hope they dont but just have this feeling for the Hammers. Birmingham are not that good and we have already betean them. 2nd spot is up for grabs, just who wants it most.

West Ham have the best squad IMO and should be winning this league. You may be right about Birmingham but there is a team that always come good after christmas and I have a feeling it will be them.

Even after scoring three @ weekend, I don't believe we have enough goals to get 2nd place. However, we aint conceding either so 1 nils could just do the trick!

Gonna be a rollercoaster from here on in

West Ham have; Southampton H, Blackpool A, Crystal P. H, Cardiff A coming up so I doubt they will break away soon.
The main thing is that other clubs stay in touch with the top two so their confidence is kept in check and we'll see what they're made of when we approach the business end of the season.
