Craig you have Reading playing themself away!!!, should be W Ham. 4 away games for us amd a home against Soton. 9 points from 15 will be a good total- Cardiff draw. Palace win. Soton draw. Leicester draw. Pompey win. Realistically i cant see us getting that many more like 6/7 points.
Well spotted that man! A couple of wins in this league completely change the complexion of things. Lets's hope it's our turn soon.
2-0 up against an Ipswich side causing us no harm and we end up dropping 2 points, I think we've blown our chance in all honesty.
Get a grip man. Nonsense. Yes Mclean messed up with that silly atempted overhead kick which cost us a penalty. What about the stone wall penalty that Fryatt should have had in the first half and you could also make a case for a late penalty when Mclean went down. Ive seen them given both of them. Korens goal should have made it 3-0 if the ref had done his job correctly. But Others also dropped points this weekend and will do so so again until the end. West Ham look like they are wobbling and will lose 2nd spot if Reading win or draw @ Donny tuesday night.. The question still to be answered is WHO WILL BE LEFT STANDING IN THE TOP 6 when the music finally stops @ 3pm saturday 28th April 2012 ????
Will you please look at the facts and not your ideal scenario. We haven't won for 6 games!! I am optimistic for the future of this club, I am just saying I think we will fall short this season. I have been saying this for a couple of months now (as you well know because you have called me a pessimist). I am a realist and whilst i give my full support on matchdays, my gut feeling is we will not win enough games to make the top 6.
The final result on Saturday was very frustrating but thankfully it hasn't greatly changed our situation. The more important thing was that we scored twice and should have had a third. If the Ipswich game proves to be the turning point when our players found their scoring boots it will be far more important than the result. Here's forever hoping.
The FACTS are that we are not out of it by any means. If you are correct after 46 games and we miss out then i shall offer you an apology for being optimistic. IF we do finish in the top 6 then i will expect the same. The ref. made a hash on the Fryatt call and that proved costly in the end. Shame Mclean did what he did but better players than him have made similar mistakes or worse.
5 league draws in a row equals our longest sequence. it was another frustrating day grabbing a draw from a match we could/should have won. I am now starting to think we will just miss out on the playoffs but a couple of decent results will change that. bottom line: its close, we are in the game.
There is no denying that we are mathematically still in the race and we will be at the end of the month. I am merely stating my prediction that we will fall short. Here's hoping I am wrong as i would love Tickler to be proved right for once!
I think Like Nick Barmby, you've realised we are going to fall short this season but don't want to admit it
Not at all. Dont think Nick does either. We are all frustrated at the missed points. 23 lost since the Burnley 2-3 home loss. We could be well clear at the top by now. Thats the frustration as all the good play and defending has not brought the rewards it should have. But my faith is not blind just positive. 4-6 points this week and the picture will be alot better.
following the weekend results my form/stats/position based predictor is now saying: 1. Southampton....87 2. Reading............84 3. West Ham.........79 4. Cardiff...............78 5. Leeds................76 6. Birmingham........75 7. Hull...................75 8. Blackpool............74 9. Brighton..............73 10. Middlesbrough....72 Lack of goals could yet be the killer!
and that is what U / we got mate. What a victory and thats now 5 goals scored in 2 games. Top 6 again and Game On. City were awsome last night in Cardiff, truely awsome. Forget what the scottish knob Mackay said after the game. Hull were by far the better team and the goals were all sound as a pound. ok the own goal was a tad fortunate but we got pay back for the ipswich game with some good luck. MM sounds a very bitter man to me. Oh yes....From the horses mouth himself last night....Anthony Gerrard would love to come back to Hull City IF ASKED..FACT.
Last night's performance was excellent all around and we got what we deserved. A convincing win. A quick front 3 was perfect for a counter attacking game when Cardiff were pressing. All we seem to have heard in the press and on TV was how poor Cardiff were. Teams generally look poor when they are outplayed. Very simple. The predictor is more positive after these results, combined with how Reading and Birmingham did. Its now coming out at: 1. Southampton....87 (87) 2. Reading............80 (84) 3. West Ham.........79 (79) 4. Hull...................78 (75) 5. Cardiff...............77 (78) 6. Birmingham........75 (75) 7. Brighton..............74 (73) 8. Middlesbrough....74 (72) 9. Blackpool............73 (74) 10. Leeds................72 (76) Despite the lack of goals we have a better goal difference than the 2 teams currently above us in 4th & 5th.
