I would rather renovate Anfield knowing that it would be future proof i.e. we can continually expand it but I can't see it happening. I don't know if 60k is the absolute maximum?

I still think we could have been at 55-60k in anfield in the 90s had moores the balls to do anything.

Firstly just to qualify - I don't care where anyone comes from, makes no difference whatsoever to how good a fan/supporter they are. I'm not one of those who thinks the nearer you live, the more 'real' supporter you are. If someone can see the ground from their house - good for them, doesn't mean anything in terms of how good a supporter you are! Now that's out the way .................

I find fans who live in the city have a different view on new stadium v refurb. In fact I don't personally know a fan in the city who wants a new stadium - I'm sure there are some <laugh>

    That's all - minor point.

that is a good way to look at it.

I should say i put all the blame on Moores, very little on G&H who were just muppets and I am hoping FSG while no sugar daddies can fix the diasaterous errors of the past i.e..... moores.

FSG have to drag the club kicking and screaming out of the 20th century and show it the way to develop. If that means the club is an average prem club at the end thats as far as moores ruined us IMO. In the end Ashley at newkie is going about the club of ruining newcastle lock and stock but still has a bigger stadium due to previous guys efforts... he only has the club cos those previous efforts were in fact too ambitious and spent too much.

We can be... leeds, newcaslte or a few others,.... cheslea or city... or we can be like villa... moores and doug ellis suited each tohers... thought it was fine to be cheap....

I want us to follow the arsenal or utd model. Sink the funds into where the benefit will accrue long term and stop wasting them on short term hopeful chasing. If we sign another carroll or downing I'll go mad. Aspas at 7mil is more than expensive enough for a lesser light.

  9. Fair enough <ok>

When I've looked at the refurb vs stadium stuff in the past, I've tried to keep it being Anfield out of it, simply because if you ask a straight forward question to every Liverpool fan of 'do you want to stay at Anfield?' you will get a 100% resounding yes! I try to think of the club as a whole and the best way forward, sometimes you have to make difficult choices to progress.

Yes you're right about difficult choices.

Living in the city gives you a different view because it becomes part of the inherent fabric of the city not just the club.

  11. Yeah, I understand your point. Bit like how i have nothing to do with Stags but I keen interest in what they are trying to do with their stadium and training pitches because I live less than half a mile away (probably not even a quarter actually)
