How many well priced shirts do you think will sell, ellewood? Isn't the truth of the matter that we would barely regain the lost sales from among our homegrown support? This whole sell more shirts argument may sound like astute business sense to you, but it sounds like an exaggerated business concept being used to mask another, more profound intent. Many of us agree with you, that tinkering with the badge in some aspects, could be acceptable; even beneficial - we've seen it before. But this is all about this badge-change being used to diminish the visibility of the club name some of us have campaigned to keep. It is a bitter and manipulate old man's way to start the next stage of his name-change campaign. There will come a day, not too far away, when interviewed about why he is again applying for a name-change, he will say, 'What name-change, where do you see a name-change?'. He will have got rid of any mention of Hull City AFC from programs, signs, tickets, websites, scoreboards, shirts, etc. Because no-one said no, they said it would sell us more shirts. What would sell us more shirts is dropping the name-change, making some good badge changes for shirts, etc and stop being dishonest. But all the time he can reach out to the gullible, even across the pond, he will succeed. You really couldn't make this **** up.
I have no idea how many we would sell. I am simply open to the idea of exploring ways to increase sales.
It's here. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/imag...270/Article/images/21264690/6228487-large.jpg Thoughts? I think it's a good compromise.
1904 recognised and badges have changed regularly so the only gripe from me is why did promised consultation not happen? I quite like the new version and to be honest the club has avoided any name change by removing it all together. Seems to me someone has finally paid attention to tradition and history . He will end up calling us 1904 tigers . He has lost the right to call us hull tigers for now so he drops the words hull city altogether first from the pass renewals now the badge more examples will appear over time.
The badge looks good - and back to its more traditional style. Consultation would have been a waste of time over something like this - you will never get everyone agreeing to the same thing!!
I can remember my mother sewing it on my kit many years ago! I love it! But hate the hidden agenda behind it! :-(
Seriously no matter whether you think the badge looks good or not everyone must realise why the name has been missed off. Its not just for design purposes. Every trace of Hull City AFC is being erased. It is childish, sneaky and underhand.
It's fine if you just look at it and don't think about the bigger picture and that it's just a small development in the cleansing of the club's actual ****ing name.
concur with most, i remember my mum sewing in on my scarf and another on my school, yeah a demanding child eh, its good............just the hidden agenda behind it. the fa need to nip the whole name change, club colours change and any other type of changes that compromise any football clubs traditions. would it have hurt to maybe have hull city afc even on the back of the collar, guess that remains to be seen when the new kit is finally put on show.
It's actually a better, cleaner design than the 'old' one, but I don't like it not stating who the badge represents. Adding '1904' is a nice touch, but were they aiming to be ironic?!
Inb4themeltdown I like it. Retro but modern looking. Clean. Nice use of our tiger as a logo, homage to 1904. Classy and no doubt who it represents (despite some who will say WHICH TEAM IS IT?! I CANT TELL!!!). Obviously some marketing and design effort gone into it, good to see. Onwards and upwards. #UTT
I very much doubt this will happen, though I agree, it would make up for it not being on the badge a bit. It's more likely to have 'The Tigers' on the back of the collar, just incase anybody missed our branding.
It's a good badge, just a pity it is being used in an underhand way to undermine the FA ruling on the name-change application. Why is it that whatever AA does has to be contrived and unpleasant? And so we move on to the next stage of his strategy.
