I think it's only my own club, that has kept me interested in football for so long. If it wasn't for my loyalty to my own club, i'd have fooked this game off a long time ago.

Before the Prem came along, I never ever wanted a European League, I thought we've got a good league here and everyone has a chance of the dream, from your AFC Wimbledon's through to your Hereford United (F.C) I'm talking the real wombles and the bulls, both having achieved the impossible from non league status. But since 1992 they changed it all within 28 years, to wanting it to be about the Elite. Shameful. You can never recreate the passion of what I used to feel on the terraces as kid, it's not just about stealing football, it's stealing those dreams from millions of kids, who will never be able to experience the excitements witnessed by so many against the likes of a team originally built by Don Revie, Leeds United (1975), through to the number nine of Malcolm McDonald on the pitch for Newcastle (1972), of course I'm talking about cup killings, whereas now they just want to kill off the cup itself.

I think so, I read it in an article earlier today so they must do.

It's so openly cynical it's laughable. How anyone can claim it's anything but self-interest. Worse than Ozil paying Gunnsaurus's wages.

It's madness and greed.

Without getting into the armchair fan debate, the hi's and lows of football can change our daily being.

Getting relegated last day of the season v Wimbledon, 1000s there, but Spurs let coventry win.

It's all hi's and lows, the whole build up, the meet ups, the match, the pints and pies etc. That whole feeling, shouting and cheering and not giving a ****.

I ****ing hate the game now and what it has become.

Kronke is alright at the moment because for the first time in his ownership at Arsenal he's actually put his hand in his pocket and strengthened the team

We'll probs hate him again when things go tits up later in the season.
 
So what do we think of some of the other proposals away from the power grab?

- 25% to FL replacing parachute payments is a good thing imo as long as it's locked down.

- 18 teams, I could also get behind this one if it wasn't simply to make room for an expanded CL.

- relegation play off? **** no, makes it more of a closed shop.

- Scrapping the league cup, not for me. I'd make it for clubs which are not in Europe only though.

- loan system revamp, sounds like a backdoor way to head towards B teams imo. One club having 18 players on loan should never be allowed.

- away tickets/safe standing, clearly good ideas but added in as tokenism to try and get fans on board (which has failed)

- PL friendly tournament every 5 years? No, just no.

- FFP rules in line with Uefa is a definite no no imo, just anti competitive.


I do think there does need to be a revamp of the way money filters down and now does seem an ideal time to do it? There's no way the one club one vote system should be changed though, or that the clubs themselves should have veto's on ownership.

I think there is an avenue in all this that gets overlooked, and that's SKY particpation in it all, afterall, it's where the Premier League get's its money from, and it only gets its money if the supporters pay their subscription fees.

SKY have already seen the outcry over PPV, albeit I personally don't have a problem with it. It's non operable if supporters refuse to dig in their pockets for the additional subscription fee, but that thought process could also apply to SKY's main event sport subscriptions fees.

The biggest and best protests are always the ones that hurt their pockets. We will never win the argument, against the big six, you need to cut off the monetary system that feeds them.

We need to gather the troops and march on Rome...
