I like the sound of this bit.

  • Two sides automatically relegated from the Premier League every season and the top two Championship teams promoted. The 16th place Premier League club in a play-off tournament with the Championship’s third, fourth and fifth placed teams.

Playoffs going down to sixth makes it more interesting for far more teams in our league. Whichever dross team finishes third-last in the Prem deserves to go down.

In summary, Prem teams need to stop being greedy ****s before they kill the game off for good.

This is nothing more than opportunism from the American owners of United & the RS.

Trying to use the bail out of the EFL to forward their own selfish agenda. Anyone who can’t see what their real aims are here, hasn’t been paying attention.

Out of interest how will prem clubs being greedy kill off the game for good?

Maybe being a bit pedantic here but kids will still play the game in parks/for clubs no matter what.

So what do you mean exactly by kill off the game for good?

Like in what sense?

Ok, I haven't read this, but let me take a wild guess....

So the team that would normally be automatically relegated third from bottom of the Premiership, will go into play-offs against teams, where one of the Championship sides would normally gain promotion via Wembley. Giving the Premiership Elite control and hopefully in their eyes, preventing a Prem team from being relegated. If I'm correct, then in such a scenario last season, Bournemouth could have had a last minute chance at reprieve. Oh and in the process, the Championship would lose a play-off place. [HASHTAG]#Greed[/HASHTAG]

Anyone who didn't notice clubs facing relegation last season threatening to bankrupt the entire football system with [HASHTAG]#nullandvoid[/HASHTAG] just to avoid relegation for themselves also hasn't been paying attention.

**** the small clubs. When facing a disaster they only looked out for themselves.

Just seen on the beeb that we'd apparently be one of the 9 'special' clubs. Up until we got relegated at least.

Still think it sounds terrible though.

In the current system the 6th best Championship team could take the place of the 18th best PL side. Madness.

Shocked to see you missing the point completely and posting some irrelevant bollocks.

In the new system the fifth Championship team could take the place of the 16th best PL side.

But the 16th best PL side would get a say in it. If they lose the playoff then that's on them. Under the current system it makes no difference if the relegated PL side is a million times better than the 6th best Championship side.

It's not irrelevant. The big clubs acting to get more power is a direct consequence of the behaviour of small clubs during Project Restart.

That's football. It's irrelevant if you're better than the side who replaces you, if you're not good enough then you get relegated.

Why not scrap relegation all together and have a PL of 6 teams playing each other 15 times a season.

They get a say in it now by not being **** enough to finish in the bottom three.
