Meet Mr. Soulless, then. I watched parts of a few episodes because people said I should, and sat stony-faced throughout.
I just can't see the attraction unless you're one of those people that thinks American culture/lifestyle/attitude is something we should admire or aspire to. Not a single character trait amongst the lot of them that any ordinary person can relate to.

Being Human- never seen it so can't say.
Shameless- good at first, but ran out of ideas and seems to think that being outrageous is a substitute for original writing.
Homeland- first series was ok but suffers from the same problem of trying to keep going long after it's run out of any meaningful development.

Tbh, I can't offhand think of anything that I'd like to see revived for the very reason that they're usually dull and repetitive, and just trying to cash in on their original popularity.
Most things are of their time and best left there. Besides, I don't know how anyone has the time or stamina to give to endless series watching.

All TV shows have a natural end-point or shelf-life. Too many (mediocre ones often) go beyond this. Less is more people. Less is more. Of course there's that rare exception where more would have been entirely justified but their brevity and being cut short is part of the appeal.

As per ****ing usual, totally agree with your synopsis.

Friends - tried several times. When I first left my ex-Mrs, I moved in with my reporter mate and his bird for about a year. She was addicted to the ****er and it was on all the time. I just couldn't find any saving graces. The characters are all so shallow.

Being Human - never heard of it.

Shameless - the same. The extremes just became, well, too extreme. The Cheese is better <laugh>

    'Of their time' - defo.
