has nobody ever seen masha and the bear.

its eccentric to say the least

Its russian or soemthign and put in english.

This bear lives inthe woods and this russian peasent girl turns up and terrorises him constantly

so they act this out... he hibernates so she jumps up and down on him shouting play with me! result is disasterous to my sleep.

She shouts gimmie gimmie gimmie... now i have to make mine cry to stop saying that and say please.

I've noticed that Fireman Sam (becoming one of my boys faves) is not exactly the best for teaching - this little **** called Norman constantly miss-behaves and causes mayhem, starting to link his bad behaviour with it

  7. On the ads topic; anyone noticed they always have adverts advertising things that cost money on the kids websites? You set them on a game and they click on the links because they like they picture or something <doh> That's wrong IMO, taking advantage of young minds.

I feel a bit sorry for kids these days, everywhere they go they've got their faces stuck into some screen or other, whether it's the tv, computer, PS, hand held games, mobile phones. A packet of crayons and colouring book, books in general and craft type games aren't 'sophisticated' enough for them. Trying to get youngsters reading, planting seeds or something where they're not transfixed by a moving picture on a screen is really hard. I'm all for advances in technology and getting them computer literate because that's the world we live in now but sometimes it seems they're growing up far too quickly.

i know....... reading is my next task....

i have to fool her. she knows damned well the lot but won't admit it. i had to fool her once to admit she could recognize number on the clock.

oh no its not 8 o'clock yet daddy its only 7 and such

    i swear its exasperating...

then he just loves counting playing and colouring.

The best gift you can give a child - teaching them to read. Next trip to the supermarket, stop at the comics aisle ......... and don't buy one with a free gift, the comic gets tossed <laugh>

    not too many good uns.

My lad likes his dinosaur one.

we've tonnes of books and she tries but she makes it up and is too stubborn to admit it so she gets stories read. she is writing a few letters but won't admit she can either. I really don't know why.

I say hi how was your day, what did you do at play school... i don't know.... i ask more .. can't remember.. its a 4 year old teenager.

Everything my lads know, they learned in the Dandy and Beano .... good stuff in them comics <laugh>

Seriously though, any comic will get them reading whether it's so called 'educational' or not.

I've got a loft full of them. They had an idea about papering their bedrooms with them instead of wallpaper but when it came to it, they couldn't bear to tear them apart <laugh> So it was glow in the dark dinosaur paper instead.
