You are clearly ignorant of finance. You can't say the cost of a player is spread over the life of the contract (true) and then suggest cash accounting for sales. When a player is sold, the balance of the fee not taken will have to be written off in the same transaction. Equally the recent spending spree will only be a years worth of write-offs in your next set of accounts, but equally you will still be depreciating Torres, Mata etc. Unless (God forbid) you win the CL again, you will probably show a loss next time.

I think you misunderstand. It is not me saying it it is UEFA<doh> and 100% that is how it works. Sales count totally in the year of the sale and buys are spread over the length of the contract. There's no chance of us making a loss if we get through to the knock outs, by the time the next accounts come in we will have more sponsors and will have shifted the vast majoirty of our high owners from the wage bill. Your in dreamland I'm afraid SD <ok>
