I was a drainage inspector for Anglian Water (new builds) and simultaneously a director for my own Ltd company selling goods online until 2 1/2 years ago. Now I live in Thailand I do not officially do anything.
Ok, so not606 is hardly the place to network, but what sort of things do you do as part of your job? (I'm a chemistry student looking to go into research, ideally industrially)
Work in telly - I do the mystery guest bit for Russell Howard's nood news...the last 3 series anyway - and various other programmes when its between series - used to work on trisha back in the day...
I start a good +3GMT over the UK so get to see the end of people's rants post defeat and the beginning of their apologies during my mid-morning coffee break. It's like living on the effing International Date Line. Love it though and very cathartic.
You know someone I know there then- not trish but the ex producer of that show - married to an old Jex school mate of mine. Small world gruffnuts
Instead of what I put earlier, I was told this afternoon at 3pm that my job was redundant. Just been bought out by a rival company. Trouble is, with my socialist outlook on life and my Trade Union background, I'm not the yes man my new employers want to treat the staff I manage like ****e. So until I officially retire in 3 years, the house, garden, ironing, will never have been in better hands, my running will get back to how it was 5 years ago and my golf handicap will drop. And hopefully the weather will improve enough for me to get out on the bike and get some serious distances in. And I might learn to front crawl instead of breaststroke so I can do a tri.
I'm a probation officer seconded to the prison service. We work with high risk offenders on indeterminate sentences (murderers, arsonists and men with repeated violent offences)
I'm a jobbing actor, and i 'm currently doing a bit of teaching to kids with learning disabilities and behavioral problems. I also teach VJ-ing (video jockeying) every now and then too!
