I think you are possibily right in this respect. After all, DM knows that what he inherited was a burnt out and jaded squad. He revistalised it for a while last season but when you start making longer term plans for the future and these don't include half the players, things are only ever going to go down hill. I've looked back at last season's final 8 games and it was interesting to note that of the 11 that mostly started, we had a couple of loanees and with 1 or 2 exceptions, it was the players NOT out of contract that got us out of the mire, not those departing... The same thing looks to be happening again this year so DM needs to play his permanent signings plus the new guys he gets in plus a few dyed in the wool City fans like Louis and CS and this should do it...
