Took me around 24 hours of lessons to pass, didn't have any outside tuition & passed first time - apparently average is around 40 hours of driving to pass (lessons and otherwise), but varies from person to person.
Passed theory first time with the top marks for Durham for that month, had to have my photo taken and put in one of those new driver magazines you get when you pass!
It was all a competition to be first to pass with my sister's fiance - we even had our test the same day! He got 4 minors against my 2, although he hasn't had a speeding ticket!

I've lost nigh on a whole season worth of save as of yesterday where I'd done the unlikely feat of 3 back to back promotions with Dover & it's put me off as not sure I'll manage to sign the similar kind of players in January that pushed me onto promotion!
Wish I'd backed up more often, but I'd played almost an entire season in a day, so didn't think!

My instructor to this day still has a 100% pass rate, what a ****ing awesome guy!
He takes you out a couple of hours before your test and you'd go over all the different possible manoeuvres and get all the mistakes out, I was really **** that morning, but when it came to the test (and when it mattered) I was spot on, maybe ask your instructor if they'll do that?

I don't really have much interest in cars in all fairness.
If it gets you from A - B - C and back without problems then that'll do for me.

Same here, not much point paying loads for a car when you can only do 35mph and the longest journey is about 40 minutes assuming you get stuck in traffic. You'd be amazed at how many people drive top of the range bmw's, audi's, mercs, porsche's or even ferrari's over here though. More money than sense.

London was very pleased to announce last week that the average traffic speeds in London have improved for the second year in a row!

Traffic now moves at an average of 9.4 mph.

    You did not misread that.
