I received an e-mail during the week from York Racecourse offering a fiver off tickets to see Frankel run in the Juddmonte International. That is a bit annoying for those of us that had already received their ticket in the post. At York, I expect Frankel to lay the ghost of Brigadier Gerard, who met with his only defeat in the then Benson & Hedges Gold Cup. I have no doubt that he will stay ten furlongs and on the same card his brother may be contesting the Great Voltigeur Stakes. If Frankel does cross the Channel on 16th September, I am already going as that is Arc Trials day at Longchamp. The Prix du Moulin only moved to that card last year when the French were able to rearrange their fixtures thanks to the inaugural Championsâ Day claiming the QEII. I am not expecting Frankel to be there in reality as I share the view that has been offered here before that they handle the horse with great care because of his temperament. A racecourse gallop seems a more likely way to break the two month gap. Those that think that Frankel will be supplemented for the Arc can get 89/1 about him on the exchanges but they are wasting their money.
I agree that would be wasting money QM. On the other hand if he won at York going away effortlessly, although there would be as much chance of him being supplemented for the Arc as there is today (next to none), maybe he might even go to 50/1 on the Exchanges. In that case 89/1 now with the potential to lay of at 60/1 straight after York could be a speculative bet.
