Players refusing to play is not the sign of a healthy club.
Says more about the player than the club

And its not players, its a player

I know you are against the club at the minute but players havent refused to play for the club, 1 player did

A player that had form for similar at his last club

If the club was such a nightmare why did neil patterson hume cirkin roberts o9 and Ballard all sign new deals - i know 4 of them had interest from clubs in the PL at the time of signing

I'm not inclined to believe what I see on here about what happens behind the scenes. I don't think anyone has reliable information and tbh even if it's something that came direct from Pritchard's mouth who's to say it's not bullshit to cover his own bad behaviour.

All I know is that since he was removed from the squad we won, scored three which could easily have been more and generally looked more positive and up for it. Obviously I'm not saying it's all linked to Pritchard but it's the only fact I can see regarding the situation.

No reason to disbelieve what people hear about the situation behind the scenes but he is playing (or should be) under the terms of his current contract which he was happy to sign. By all means tell the club you aren’t happy with their stance and by all means see your contract out and leave for nothing as that’s the terms of your contract. To refuse to play doesn’t really affect the club overall, it moves on regardless. What he has done is let his teammates down and let the fans down. For that he should be fined for every week he refuses to play and should be made to rot in the reserves til the summer.

Different situation from Pritchard though. We know he was told he could go in the summer. He's in the last six months of his contract. He's arguing with the coach in games. He knows he's made of glass.

If you know someone's coming in for you and where you currently are is ****ing you about, and you've seen all this **** before elsewhere, then why would you risk getting injured and not going somewhere they actually want you?

You get to a point with an employer who wants you out where you think why should you act like a professional, because they aren't and no matter how professional you are, it's not going to fix it.

I don't think he's that much of a loss anyway tbh.

I have a lot of time for Pritchard, he has been a great player for us. However, him refusing to play for the club is beyond contempt.
He was happy enough to sign a contract from the Start date to a given date at the end. Regardless what promises he has had from the club on a future contract, the contract he signed (willingly) has to be respected. He has spat the dummy and downed tools because whatever was verbally discussed hasn't materialised in a contract....But the very least, he should have been available to play for the duration of his original contract...absolutely non negotiable that,

Cast your mind back to when we signed Kenwyn Jones from Southampton.
He went on Strike, refusing to play and forced the deal through.
I don't recall any Sunderland Fan who complained at his attitude at that time,

If Pritchard really did have a contract offer withdrawn to be replaced by a less favourable one, and I very much doubt this was the case, it must be because something had happened to make the club think he wasn't deserving of the original one. If he is arguing with the coach (another highly debatable point) or causing problems behind the scenes, maybe the club felt that he wasn't worth the terms of the original contract. Accept these reduced terms or you're free to leave.

Remember it well mate. Doing that anywhere is a **** attitude. Nobody moaned about it at Sunderland because it benefitted us. Doesn’t mean it was right and doesn’t mean it shows anything other than a **** attitude.

What I find hard to believe is that the club are getting a reputation for being very tight-lipped and professional when it comes to not sharing information. Nobody knows who we are signing until it happens etc.

Yet the ins and outs of Pritchard's contract details are suddenly being made public and put Speakman in a bad light. There's a rabbit away somewhere, it's almost as though people are desperately grabbing sticks to beat the club with.

I like Pritchard, but if he doesn't want to play for the club despite being in contract, he can **** off. If he's pissed off about a contract offer, he should simply continue to honour his contract and get his agent on finding a new club for him.

Refusing to play has nothing to do with a healthy club or not, it's a players bad attitude

If only it was so simple.

Look at the situation. The club wanted him gone in the summer - he could have taken the huff then but didn't - he hardly played - no complaints - but he's suddenly a fixture when there's a crisis. They're ****ing him about with his contract at the same time (we don't need to know specifics to know that) and he's got the chance to go elsewhere.

At some point you have to look after yourself if nobody else is looking after you.

Who said the club wanted him away? A lot of the itks on here said it was pritchard that wanted to go not the other way around

We also dont know they were f**king about with his contract, youve decided that we have

Yes pritchard has to look after himself but the likes of speakman n co are looking after our clubs best interest.

As most have said none of us are bothered that he wanted to leave but you just dont refuse to play. Like when neil left, i wasnt bothered that he left us but i was bothered that he refused to coach us against us against norwich - for me pritchard has done the same yet folk stick up for him and call neil a snake

People slagged the club, and rightly so for the BCB incident, saying the owners just dont get the club and our area. Yet a lot of them are sticking up for pritchard refusing to play for us - i simply can't get my head around that.

He has spat in the face of every fan whose dream it was to play for our great club the minute he refused to play for us. Getting to play football professionally is a privilege that very few get to do. His and his children's future is likely secure with the money he has earned, yet he refuses to play 1 game for the club that pays his wages

He had the opportunity to play in front of our great fans 1 last time before he goes, he got to play with his teammates 1 last time but refused to do so

When you play for a football club i believe you are playing for the fans - not for the owner, not for the director of football but for the fans, and if a player refuses to play hes refusing to play for us

Now i get life isnt as simple as ive probably made out but for me its just not right

Did they? Apparently he asked to leave in the summer according to a few that I know, which is one of the reasons Mowbray asked for Dack and didn’t play him? They offered him an extension to his contract on tyrcszpaje terms, at the biggest club he’ll play for.

I’d stick him in the reserves until the end of his contract if I was managing him

I'll always back the club no matter if I think they are in the wrong or right and I really don't understand not doing so. The club is here forever, Pritchard has been here for 3 years. **** him and **** anyone who doesn't want to be here.

he done the same at huddersfield,

And was Huddersfield a healthy club? It was a basket case at the time.

I know it's easier to think it's all Pritchard, because some can't cope with the idea the club are anything less than perfect (look at the nothing to see here reaction to the BCB fiasco), but players generally don't go on strike when the relationship with the club is good. It's not like Man City have come in for him is it.

mate honestly hes refused to put the shirt on, the shirt that you and every single fan would kill to put on
the shirt that means everything to the fans
all because he wants a 2 year deal **** that man

it's not like we have refuse to pay him

he's signed the contract honour it

man up play that last game for the fans and club who pulled him out of the ****
and then **** off if your not happy

he wants a 2 and half year deal

we after a year and half deal

clubs have offered him the two and half year deal
we now want money for him this window

pritchard has spat his dummy because he want to club to let him go now because we aren't giving him the 2.5 deal
