@Tobes I found one might have been wrong about 5th , but like I say I wasn't lying this was 8th... not as good now when I think about the club's that are gone https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.independent.co.uk/travel/a-night-on-the-toon-1602520.html?amp
some bloke who was told a story about gazza once I think! 20 years ago it was banging, but has been overtaken by Vegas, Hong Kong, Paris, Berlin, Dublin, Amsterdam, Rome, Bristol...... Sorry, once in 1995 someone said it was good.
You fu*ker! I'm from Whitley Bay! Worked in Liverpool for over a decade though, used to live in Aigburth for 8 years before moving over to the Wirral but mate if you think parts of Liverpool aren't a sh*thole then we're seeing a different town (aigburth and Sefton Park were nice but find Liverpool an odd place in that every nice pocket is surrounded by some places I wouldn't want to be walking at night tbh). Overall I probably preferred Newcastle for a night out but it's hard to compare as I was late teens whereas my time in Liverpool I've been mostly in my thirties and not exactly hitting it hard. Depends what you're looking for really, bigger towns have more but often it's too spread out (even in Liverpool there can be a bit of a trek). Whitley Bay at night is horrific in fairness. As a kid we moved away when i was still young and my memories (fish&chips, castle, sea-side, etc) are very different to the cheap slag infested, neon-lighted strip of horror I saw when i went back 20 years later.
Whitley bay scallys are easy all like metroland scallys still today... shields is the same... full of charvers
Back in the early 2000's I was commissioning the Baltic Bridge control rams system, some wise spark from the fitting team had us in digs in Whitley bay so had the commute in and out each day. With a 16 year old apprentice in tow it was great fun monday to thrsday, but it wan't the Ritz! Some place at the top of south parade! Now I have lived in two major industrial cities that have seen some great regeneration in my life, Liverpool and Now Sheffield. At no point have I said either are great places. What I can say is that the list of Cities I put up, Newcastle doesn't even come close. Neither do Liverpool or Sheffield Had mad nights and social nights in all three. Would prefer Berlin or Dublin over any of them for a hard party or social night.
it is that's why I took exception to pjama pants saying players would obvs live there and travel to Newcastle. Newcastle isn't paradise , but by UK standards it really isn't a bad place and has nice surrounding areas like Durham, Northumberland ,tynedale and has some canny coastlines.
There’s some lovely spots not far from Boro tbf. Yarm and Osmotherley come to mind, but the town itself is a fleapit.
was a cracking nightclub in yarm called talltrees.. have a swimming pool in it and hotel .. was really good, but I think it closed a few years back
We used to go there. One of my mates dad used to live in Yarm so we crashed at his place. Don't remember much about the place, most likely ****faced
Have seen the plans and some of the images as it is being built. Looks good and shows the owners legacy for the club and city.
what Don Carlo want's, Don Carlo gets https://newcastletoons.com/2020/05/14/everton-ready-approach-newcastle-midfielder-summer/ Straight into the U23's
this ring a bell ? I went on a bus... the coaches park a Mike away and you had to walk through mud till you saw this place.... I was wearing cream jeans at the time and by the time I got to the door I had mud up to my knees, but I still enjoyed it.. funnily enough having the mud actually had more girls than usual coming to talk to me.. was a great ice breaker . just checked it out and it's reopening... class nightclub... one of the very best anywhere... mad to think it's in Boro
let's be honest if the takeover fails he will get him, but if it goes through there's zero chance of it... funny old game
I'd be genuinely - a bit - surprised as he seems to love playing for his boyhood club, has his brother alongside him and is getting regular gametime. Nothing would surprised me that much though and rumours are that the club are trying to give him a pretty shoddy contract and bearing in mind Shelvey is on bucket loads I wouldn't blame him for feeling like his loyalty is being abused. We have proper tyre-kickers in charge at the moment, if my kid played for Newcastle I'd tell them to leave in all honesty.
