There's so much wrong with this it almost deserves a thread of its own.

The death penalty has, if you'll excuse the pun, been done to death so I'll leave that one.

Benefits so people HAVE to work? Does that include severely physically disabled people or people with severe mental problems? And what about people who've worked for 30 years and through no fault of their own find themselves out of a job? Do they get fired on the Friday and forced into a job on the Monday? No chance to reflect and take time to gauge the job situation in his or her profession? What a ridiculous policy!

Get us well away from the EU and their stupid human rights law. What would be the long-term effect of leaving the EU? Do you think that all the major political parties including the Tories support being in the EU just for the sake of it?

As for the Human Rights Act - yeah, let's abolish it then see how you get on.

Make immigration much more tougher and only those such as doctors, nurses, engineers would be allowed in and not foreign students who only come here for the passport. Can I point out a major flaw in this? If people can make counterfeit passports how difficult do you think it would be to make false degrees, diplomas and accreditations?

And how would you know which students were genuinely here and which are only after a passport?

    1. Turn prisons into prisons: No TVs, Pingpong, pool tables, XBOXs. 20% sentence reduction for `good behaviour'.
    2. Unemployment benefit for 12 weeks only.
    3. Maximum £300 per week benefits per household.
    4. Prisoners in `Chain gangs' to clean up rivers, parks, paint fences, repair stuff, cover graffiti etc.
    5. Prisoners pay decent compensation to victims eg. Assault £1000, serious assault £10,000.
    6. Put Seb Coe in a very deep hole somewhere.
    7. Put Maggie Thatcher in a UFC cage with some ex-miners.
    8. Tell the EU to **** off.
    9. Give Northern Ireland back to Ireland.
    10. If investment bankers cause economic ruin - jail them.

You make some very good valid points.

Benefits so people HAVE to work - No i do not think disabled or mental problems should work but i should have cleared it up in that post i made. This was for those who claim benefits, do not have nothing wrong with em and have not done a day's work in their whole life.

Get us well away from the EU and their stupid human rights law - I still think we should steer clear of the EU as we pay them millions every week. On the human rights act side, i still think it should be abolished as it gives in to the murderer's, terrorists, etc.

Make immigration much more tougher and only those such as doctors, nurses, engineers would be allowed in and not foreign students who only come here for the passport - I think the flaw you found was correct but this kind of policy has worked in Canada and many other countries and could work here.

    1. Prisons are prisons. Not every prisoner has a ****ing Xbox. There's no point in locking someone up for 15 years in ****ty conditions, because in what state are you going to release them at the end of it?

    2. What happens when you can't get a job after those 3 months? That's it? You're homeless? It would **** this country up SO much, creating loads of new criminals.

    3. Benefits aren't that much, I was on housing benefit last year, living in one of the most expensive places in the country, and you're only allowed 62.50 a week in JSA and £80 in rent. You're going to go far with that <doh>

    4. Prisoners could do some of those things, but it would cost more than it would save.

    5. With what money? So all people that commit assaults are rich enough to pay that fine?

    6. I don't care about Seb Coe.

    7. That's not a violent enough death. She should be Quartered and the BBC should film it.

    8. No, the EU will save us one day and you'll look pretty stupid.

    9. No probs there, N. Ireland is ****ed. Don't think it would go down too well, so let's keep it.

    10. Legally it's complicated to enforce your last bit. Don't see how you could do it...

    I really wouldn't give a **** - I'd be in charge.

There are X number of jobs. There are Y number of people claiming benefits. If you take out all the people who cannot work (Z) then you have N. So, Y-Z = N. If N > X how do you force people into jobs that aren't there?

Again, what do you think you're life would be like without the Human Rights Act? Most of the stories you hear about prisoners and the like are a load of ****e but I'll agree it occasionally gets abused by lawyers seeking a fortune in legal costs. However, the positives far outweigh the negatives. Abolish it and see where your 'rights' get you.

As for migration, as I pointed out if you can make counterfeit passports then it's just as easy if not easier to fake diplomas and pay a university dean a few dollars to act as reference to anyone coming from say, Africa, to Britain claiming to be a doctor or a nurse.

I'd legalise all crimes. That way we'd save a fortune on Police and the judiciary and it would solve the ageing population dilemna. Oh and I'd put Norman tebbit in a cage and move it round every zoo in the Uk so we can turn up and poke him with sharp objects.

    1. You have to pass an exam to show you have a basic understanding of the issues before being allowed to vote.
    2. Bring Britain's puritanical porn laws into line with mainland Europe
    3. Religious people to be put into freak shows where they can be openly mocked by the public.
    4. Reality/talent shows to be banned
    5. Jeffrey Archer to be placed in stocks in town squares across the country and pelted with rancid tomatoes
    6. 5 more public holidays/year
    7. Comic Relief and Children In Need to be scrapped and replaced with proper programming.
    8. News channels will only be allowed to use 'Breaking News' for big news stories, not the latest financial figures from Boots
    9. Cockney, Brummie and Scouse accents to be outlawed
    10. Euthanasia for all Sunday Post readers

I was, it took me 3 months and a load of interviews. Getting a job in IT with no professional experience isn't easy when there's a load of competition.

    1. after carrying out several independent reviews of health and education i would implement the conclusions, irrespective of who it pisses off (might need to bend employment laws for a bit here).
    2. religious schools would get the bin (depending on the above of course).
    3. i would re-invade iraq and get our money back.
    4. i would ban aubergines.
    5. i would reduce the number of MP's/MSP's etc bringing them down to numbers similar to other EU countries. i would pay them more but remove all expenses/benefits other than travel from constituencies. they would be house in gov. accomodation.
    6. i would increase road tax as well as the tax on short haul flights whilst investing in the national rail network. i'd also scrap the london cross rail scheme to invest in other rail projects.
    7. i'd make bin men quieter on pain of death.
    8. the MoD would get a boot in the baws, equipment would be purchased on requirement rather than what the generals want.
    9. i'd be out of afghan in a heartbeat burning everything as we left.
    10. i'd legalise drugs (see previous thread, might see if anyone else does it first though)
    11. i'd duel the A9
    12. i'd commission a body to outline the facts on scottish, n.irish and welsh independence then hold referendums.
    13. i'd send in SF to shoot Gaddafi in the face then sod off.
    14. i'd means test the winter fuel allowance and bus passes for OAPs.
    15. i'd make the house of lords an elected body or just bin it
    16. i'd spend more money on trying to reform petty criminals whilst reducing jail sentences and increasing community based punishment (if they dont carry this out their jail time doubles) whilst make sentences for violent/sex crimes harsher.

i'd take the rest of the day off...
