2-1. Stats mean nothing....it's all about the ball in the back of the net. Possession.....67% to 33%....to Argyle. Shots.....18 to 9 to Argyle. On Target.....7 to 5 to Argyle. Corners.....14 to 4 to Argyle. Fouls....14 to 11 to Preston. Goals.....2-1 to Preston. First minute goal to Preston gave Argyle an up hill start. Argyle drop to 13th.
You ddeserved something from the game today, you were excellent apart from putting the ball in the net, staggering 2537 made the journey, great atmosphere, you will do well this season, you are a more than decent footballing side. Match blog will be complete tomorrow will put on site sometime tomorrow, good luck for the season
well thanks for your comments, yes we started ok then were 2 down, great response but its every game we play this way, but were up against a good defence today but had plenty of chances to at least get a draw, its going to happen soon for sure .. all these chances will go in the net
Thanks for the comments. I rather think the problem is keeping them out at the other end. Part of the club’s stated philosophy is to play attractive football. We all subscribe to that but we threw away creditable draws against Southampton and Birmingham by trying to get a late winner rather than shutting up shop and today we’ve conceded 2 early goals by not keeping it tight for the first 20 minutes. We should have paid you that respect. Never mind, could be worse. We could be Sheffield Wednesday, ugly to watch and bottom of the league!
Football is brutal sometimes isn't it. I kept looking at the stats today and wondering how the score was us losing. As has been pointed out today and by me many times that it's one stat that counts and nobody remembers the rest.
We don't want a reputation for being a good team but losing though as much as I applaud the efford the squad is making. We have played well enough so far this season to comfortably stay in this league. However, if losing becomes the habit then no matter how pretty we look it ain't gonna cut it.
Thanks for the comments.I watched the 15 minute highlights last night and based on that I think you’re being generous. Schumacher said we made bad decisions around your goal and so we did. Too many shots from tiny angles when passes would have been better. If those were the best of many chances the stats said we made, then we can do a lot better than that. Your first goal was made by an astonishing cross-field pass that would have put any defence out of position. Nobody could have anticipated that. Also, we seem to have drawn the short straw in facing Liam Millar’s debut. Made the first and scored the second and generally unplayable. You seem to have signed a star there. On our side, Morgan Whittaker stood out to me. That looked more like the form we saw from him last season. He’s my Argyle man of the match although Finn Azaz got the fans’ vote. I think he’s still a way off what he’s capable of.

I think we'll be stronger then. Last season, we brushed some teams aside without breaking a sweat and it takes time to adapt. We're not being out-classed even when we lose and the fans are sticking with it. So far. I'm going to go out on a limb on the basis of 15 minutes video and say that might have been our poorest performance to date, partly due to yourselves of course and to poor finishing from us. We gave Watford a fright and really shouldn't have conceded last-minute goals to lose to both Southampton (94th minute) and Birmingham (95th minute). Entertainment is fine but we need to learn when it's time to pull the shutters down and take the draw. In both those games we were still going hell-for-leather for the winner right to the bitter end. The club planned for the play-offs last year, and promotion this, which the manager and players rather over-shot. This year it's survival. which again I think the fans understand, so anything else is a bonus.
