You were better in the 2nd half after bringing Whittingham on, main danger Pilkington, however not too good at the back, think the keeper possibly should have done better for first two goals, however the third was quality. Credit to the 100 ish who turned up at least they got a good thunder storm
Watched the beam back at CCS last night. Started off well with a good feast. Went downhill from there! City were awful. Why he persists in leaving Whittingham on the bench I don't know. Harris and pilkington were our only bright spots. Lambert came close but didn't get the service. Desperation when he brought on gnome. The only blessing was I missed their first goal when I went to the loo! Wilson is no replacement for Marshall or Moore! I don't see it getting better any time soon
http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/...ull-furious-paul-trollope-transcript-11883605 Always think a manager slating his players in public is a man on the edge of losing his squad and with it his job. He basically says they were prepared properly by me but didn't bother trying. Slade had a handy habit (for him) of getting a result as soon as the pressure built. It's a skill Trollope needs to develop quickly or he'll be under massive trouble by the time the Saturday 3pm's kick off. If it means he gets the boot I hope Leeds win! That statement just made me do a bit of sick in my mouth......
Absolute joke! Appalling.. Worst start to a season in bloody years and years. Zero ambition, zero confidence and zero ideas. I actually miss Russell Slade .
You can blame the players and you can blame the manager - it's a combination of both, but Trolls criticising his players seems a mark of desperation to me. OGS got just 8 Championship games and was mid table when he got the bullet. Saturday is Trollope's 8th game and we're in the relegation zone - he should go the same way as OGS unless there is a massive upturn against Leeds. I've got a feeling Monk will turn us over like he did at Swansea after he became manager. If that happens Trollope should be removed.
I would never want to see us lose and even if we win it does not necessarily means his job would be secure but you do get the impression he is swimming against the tide. Oh by the way it's 12.30 this Saturday
I can't really say I ever want to see us lose but for the greater good..... I know it's 12.30 (I can't go) that's why he'll be ****ed by 3pm
Reading through the interview, he questioned the players desire. Fair enough,,,but why are they not motivated? I think they are simply not that good. We have a squad that has slowly been declining and it is catching up with us. I think Trollope will get 10-12 more games to turn it around as they really wouldn't have been thinking about lining up a new manager yet. Who could they even think about getting? You can't turn **** into gold. There isn't much gold in our squad.
I agree totally ToB. It has been regularly said in the last 2 years that we have a good squad and should do better. Delusion is the word that springs to mind. It is rumoured that Pulis will be shown the door at West Brom once the Chinese take over is completed. Would we want him, would he want to drop down to us, what other options will he have? The football wouldn't be pretty but he would get the best out of what we have and ensure we stayed up. The other current option is Warnock, look at the effect he had on Rotherham last season.
A squad good enough to be within 2 games of the playoffs under a very limited manager. We don't have the players that some of the teams in the division are lucky enough to have but there is plenty to put us in the top half, Trollope might find a solution but slating his players attitude is unlikely to bring everyone together. If we had Pulis or Warnock we'd be looking at the top 10 with the threat of finishing top 6 if we put a run together.
The problem we now have is that the players have forgotten how to win. Even against a crap Blackburn side we needed own goals to get the win and then were hanging on for grim death at the end - again. Confidence is shot and I can't see Trollope as the man to bring it back. His leadership on and off the park must be in question.
That 'lucky' result against a terrible side is masking how terrible our start has been. We could easily have not won that game. 2 points -7 goal difference would probably be a fairer reflection of how we've been. In short - ****ing terrible. I said it above. 1 chance for Trollope to prove he can send us out with a formation and tactics that work on Saturday. If he fails again he has to go.
Didnt like this appointment when it was made, the man is out of his depth, he doesnt even know how to pick the team. He is a disaster and needs to go now. However will the board see it the same as most of us. I think so.
Sadly have to agree. Fat chance of either of them coming here. Doubt we'll be able to appoint someone better than Trollope
Maybe it is a money issue but that's INCREDIBLY short sighted if that's the case. When a single player can cost £10's 000's a week even at our level penny pinching on the most important bloke at the club seems beyond ridiculous. I'd rather take a risk by being light on the odd player.
Maybe we won't pay Pulis type money but Warnock was at Rotherham last year FFS. As for 'better than Trollope' from what we've seen so far we'd do well to get someone worse however pathetic the budget.
Apparently and take this as you want. There are strong rumours that Kavanagh will be at the stadium tomorrow. If that is the case and Trollope gets the boot, Kavs would be a very similar low budget appointment. We have to get someone like Warnock here and get him here ASAP
