At one point Ba was running around like a headless chicken.

Our striker situation is obviously the main issue at the club right now, but we never seem to do our current options any favours. Never really seem to set up in a way that helps them. Rusyn in for a tough evening against a physical back 3 regardless of what you think of him

Wouldn’t mind seeing Watson getting a half in place of Ba here

    Abdoullah "too many touches" Ba.

Does a lot of good things but wastes it by trying to do too much, still needs to learn when to keep it simple.

Overall it has been an okay performance, plenty of good things, but we need someone to take the game by the scruff and win it for us.

I hope RLB keeps things as they are.

Yes, it's been a bit messy but you can see the players are figuring things out as the game goes on.

I wouldn't want him to pull anyone, they all need to build their confidence/fitness more than progressing in this cup.

Have to diagree. It was a deflection and having watched it again I don't think Superman could have saved it. Moore has done well.

100% agree. No end product when in possession.

Held our own against championship opposition with effectively our second string. Moore had the bigger saves to make but thought we played the better football.

Defence has struggled with triantis looking the best of them. Rigg looks at home in cm and mundle looks a threat. Not sure if rusyn will be capable of leading the line at this level but made some good runs. Ba continues to be frustrating because I see a player there but end product is poor.

On the ball played some really nice stuff and a few will have a big role this season. More positives than negatives imo.

Not a terrible half tbh beaten by a deflection thought Moore was solid.

Just on a couple of points. AA looks like a danger player and by that I mean if you’re desperate to create a goal I’d want him on. He’s always looking for the killer ball. But for 90 minutes that’s probably a detriment for than a positive.

I think Hjelde’s reactions and positional awareness haven’t been great, but he’s playing next to a very poor player in Anderson which isn’t easy.

Johnson is struggling but isn’t a right back by trade. So can appreciate that.

Ekwah has come on leaps and bounds in this game. Winning headers, using his size, being physical, asking for the ball I’m loving it

Rigg and mundle both great young players and as backups go you aren’t getting much better. Mundle causing some serious problems.

ba is so frustrating. Has all the qualities just doesn’t seem to have a quick enough football brain

rusyn started well but I think he’s getting lost in Preston’s big physical defenders

Even game. We might need some experience to see us through, hope we have a bit on the bench.

On the subject of AA he absolutely should have had a fantastic assist in this game, plus had one of our better shots. For all his frustrations that’s not a bad half of output for a creative player.

Having watched the goal back, Hjelde def should be at least 5 yards closer to their player. Dont think he would have pressured them enough but just stepping out closes the passing lane into the centre of the box

It def isnt shocking defending as staying central is common for defenders who are being forced towards their own goal however, if thats ballard or o9 they would know when to step out to close the gap

Just happy to have a manager that wants to play football again. May lose but really enjoying this. Riggs ability could be limitless

Thought Zak Johnson has done okay, kept the moves flowing when in possession and even got in position to deliver a cross at one point, decent cross too.

Enjoyed that, played well and matched what's pretty much a full strength team for them. Moore looks good. Bar our weakness at left back, we've looked good.

The reserves are holding their own against Preston's first team with only a bad decision and deflection separating the teams. Let RLB have a word with them and see how they come out for the second half
