The only argument I can kind of go along with, is numbers as in police not being able to deal with the number of officers needed to successfully police both football and crowd control for public mourning events.

I haven’t heard policing being used as a reason, if it had been I’d have sympathy, I’ve heard respect , or lack of it, which is nonsense.

I just think that the decision was made for various reasons. Respect, the numbers involved that wanted to show respect and the logistics concerning policing and security for the Cities involved with various activities, especially in and around London..
Not nonsense at all, once in a lifetime occasion.. FA grew a pair and made a difficult decision and imo the right one..
Football will be back in action very soon.. really don’t see what all the fuss is about..

Respect,- would suggest other sports don’t have it , obviously they do, so that’s out the window..
Logistics and policing - doesn’t stack up either otherwise next weekend would be more appropriate due to her majesty lying in state and next Mondays funeral,

And so why do you think they made the decision they did?
imo they did show more respect than the other sports. And as to policing & security, more time to organise is key..
    common sense prevails

I think it was a knee jerk reaction, to be fair it’s a long time since the last king died, and they took what they thought was the easy option.
My main gripe is people suggesting that those the disagree with the decision some how are showing a lack of respect. Or that football fans are less able to be trusted to act responsibly.

I don't think football fans are less able to be trusted and I don't believe the FA's decision was based on that either..I do think it was based on respect, compassion and logistics regarding policing and security..

Fishing a time to reflect waiting for the fish to take the bait .. not a spectator sport or one that needs the local constabulary to intervene in.
Im glad I mentioned the police in another post .. when all sais and done it comes down to what I always profess ........ look at the bigger picture........
