That was 8 years ago. And we are talking about Roma, the Italian equivalent of CFC , you just have to watch them doing the hitler salute. I remember in the return leg (which I was at), their fans had caused trouble outside our ground and the police had to segregate them outside before the game. Not a good example I'm afraid Blueman.
Well, it takes 2 to tango Treb. You won't have it though. How about this? More recent concerning the non racist United fans. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-34089370
Every club has a minority. Some clubs just have bigger minorities and are therefore more synonymous with them.

Words that I couldn’t understand, monkey chants and being told to go back to my own country. “I thought to myself, ‘boy are these Crystal Palace fans for real?’ But then I realised it wasn’t Crystal Palace fans - it was my own fans. I just couldn’t believe it.”
Any time xx I'd go as far to say QPR's minority is bigger than most for a club of its size. Why Chelsea in particular are synonymous with these things is a complex one to answer as it's for so many reasons which differ in significance depending on the individual.
I'm too busy doing frivolous investment banking with my silver spoon mates and looking down on everyone else.
I remember those days in the 80s. They gave their own (black) fans the same treatment tbf. Maybe a bit harsh to keep referring back to them days, but that undertone still exists there.
There's a divide between their old, ****bag, racist hooligan element and the more recent influx of glory-hunting tossers. They're united by the fact that each group is substantially made up of twats, though. I'm not sure who's worse, the scumbags that constantly chucked anti-Semitic crap at us during Spurs games or the likes of Baddiel, who blamed us. How do you go to Stamford Bridge, hear people making gas-chamber noises and think, "Yeah, this is my team", as someone who's Jewish? Still, the bloke blacked up to take the piss out of someone during the 90s, so he probably fit right in for most of the abuse. please log in to view this image Remember, this is not racist. Not. Racist.
David Baddiel has somehow stolen a career. He is categorically not funny and just piggy backed the very funny Frank Skinner. He's recently decided that he is an author of children's books, coincidentally after David Walliams made a fortune from the same genre. I've always thought he was a talentless twat.
If we're going down that road we could talk about black players being serenaded with the banana boat song every time they went north of Birmingham. But, as you say, it's a bit harsh to keep referring back to those days.
Oh yeh there were clubs that had it up here too. But I'd argue it was far less and I rarely if ever saw ppl in grounds up here foul-mouthing their own fans or gobbing on them. And every now and again you see that general undertone is still there to some extent at CFC.
Not in my experience Treb, and I go to the Bridge quite often. Things have changed dramatically from the 80's, believe me.
I'm old enough to remember Clyde Best running down the wing through a hail of bananas and abuse. All part of the 'fun' in those days, of course!
