But I don't think Ricco is very good anywhere mate. His passing and general footballing is atrocious. And when things aren't going his way he loses interest all together. Sticking a goal in now and then, shouldn't be allowed to hide his deficiencies. Makes me think back to a match years ago, where he wouldn't run for the ball unless it was played right to his feet. Then just stood and watched as the oppo ran away with the ball. I was sitting fuming and couldn't believe he was still on the pitch at the final whistle. A bloke sitting near me was arguing with his mate vociferously saying he was man of the match, his mate thought the same as me he had been ****e. And called him colour blind as he never passed to anyone in red and white. They were proabaly still arguing when they got to the pub. Footy eh?
I agree, we need a LW and we have got 1, play him there Bruce. This is a guy that has England caps and came through the Man Utd youth ranks.
JI, have to say he looks as though he could do a job. But the short time he is getting on the pitch he looks as if he is trying too hard, be interesting to see him starting and to be able to be more relaxed.
After reading the posts in this thread, i can only conclude a proportion of Sunderland fans enjoy their team being ****e. Richardson? Richardson, people? Give your heads a shake. Richardson is a left winger, is he? Of all the postions on a football field, including the goalkeeper position, left wing is where Richardson is the most shocking. He's best at left back because his deficiencies are less obvious, mainly due to the greater time on the ball and space. Richardson is an awful footballer, end of. Er, IMO. Turner, was excellent at his peak fitness. I hope he is in shape, because we're going to need him. Larsson, has loads of quality in his boots, but he'll not show it should he be played on the right wing. The right wing has to be either Elmohamady or Sessegnon. Larsson should continue on the left for me, his best performances have come from this postion. He'll be much better than in the Norwich game should he be given a platform to get forward. He'll score goals and make chances, but not with Sessegnon playing like he has. Elmohamady has been effective on the right wing, it's a shame people on here can't see it.
I don't buy into the "don't want to harm his development" crack about Connor.......how can playing regular in the Prem possibly harm his development, 10 minutes a game is not going to help it is it. Get him on from he start and lets see what he can do, the lad looks like he can handle himself to me.
Sorry - Larsson is DIRE, slow, lightweight, can't tackle, can't defend. I thought he was sh1t before we signed him, and said so on this forum. I think I am being proved right - he is not a patch on JH. Ricco is the most versatile player we have on the books, but SB does not play him where is is most effective. He would be a loss if sold, unlike Larsson. Bart
See I'm the complete reverse on this, Ricco wouldn't be a loss to me. Larrson was doing more covering than Ricco and it was Ricco's job!
Larsson was at fault for the 1st goal, was caught in posession on too many occasions, and regularly got in Ricco's way. He is as slow as f u c k - his only attribute is that he puts a good cross in from deadball situations - the oppo know this so avoid giving away free kicks. Bart
As much as I was angry at mondays performance, I still think we should persist with Sess, but on the left wing, switch Larsso to the right wing, keep the two central midfield lads Vaughan and Gardner, Elmo to right back and O Shea to centre half, Ji alongside Bendtner, Keep Richo at Left back. Ok its keeping faith with some poor performers on Monday but its a slightly different formation, I think it could work, mainly because it couldnt get any bloody worse after Monday
Yup opinions! But my opinion is more valid than anyone else's as I am clearly the most knowledgeable SAFC supporter ever. Like Whitehead they used to give him man of the match awards for passing hospital balls to team mates.
