Well Debayo is 10cms taller than Bruma at over 6 foot...Jose is 6'3"?

Just checked....Jose is 1.87 and Debayo is 1.83

Going on height comparison it looks more like Bruma's height in the picture.

Yeah I thought that too, also from the images available on google I think it looks a lot more like Bruma than Debayo, but my eyes are ****.

Is it not Bruma the Portugal U21 winger from Galatasaray we're talking about rather than Jeffrey Bruma, the Dutch CB surely? There's a big difference in appearance....

I think it's one we need another.

Yeah. At this point, CB/attacker would be my main targets. Backfill with young, talented players (Bastien might not be that far from seeing action, if we land him), and we should be in good stead.

If we don't get one this season it will happen next season. Michael Keane is on the list.

He's also subject to £15m+ bids from Leicester this summer, and we're not going to go higher than them on wages. Even if he stays at Burnley this year and plays well, we're unlikely to be his next destination, whether he's on the list or not.

Todd Bruma. Highly-rated groundskeeper out of Peru. On trial to see if he can make pretty pitch patterns for the season opener.

We have players on 80k+ now, so we can compete with Leicester.

I was there, a reasonably good game that we should have won with better finishing and a lesser GK in their net. The Tannoy isn't any better, It took me a long time to realise that Fraser had been replaced at half time, spec savers visit required, the midfield missed Clasie after he was subbed imo. but the more I see of Hojbjerg the more I like him.

We can compete with them yes, but we're not going to outbid them. Facts are 1) they won the PL last year, 2) are playing Champs Lge this year because of it, and 3) they've moved for the player (Michael Keane) first. So even if we match them it's likely a player would choose them over us at the moment. Kaputska may even have done this, we don't know how far our interest went there.

We never bid for Kaputska. Also with Keane say Burnley keep him for this season (which is looking likely), we have no idea where Leicester will finish this season.

Thought we missed Prowsey in the 2nd half, but Hojbjerg was excellent when he went back to the base of the diamond. He's very skilful and when he gets up to the pace of the PL I think we're going to have some player.
The other who impressed me was Tadic - he was back to his best, tracking back and stealing the ball as well as providing some great attacks. Redmond - looks very good, needs to improve finishing.
Virgil bossed the defence, but it was good to see Maya, Stephens and Jones looking comfortable. At the end of the game, we had 9 UK players on the pitch I believe!

True, that part is fluid, if he stays at Burnley until next summer, but assuming wages were equal (best case as we like to operate shrewdly for unearthed gems rather than enter bidding wars), we'd need to be playing in a higher level of European football than Leicester next season for us to have an edge. We'd also need him to perform at a level that didn't attract any of City/Utd/Chelsea/Arsenal/Spurs/Liverpool.

Romeu helped ease my concern about the holding role at the base of the diamond.
I thought he was very good, very disciplined and still had time to score a goal.
Yoshida was also very good, as was VVD, until his brain burp swing of the boot, that made a solid enough contact that even I could hear it halfway back in the Itchen stand.
JWP seems to have added a willingness to turn and run with the ball, and was also very solid going forward and also defensively.
Hojberg really does look a decent player. I thought, when Romeu went off, he was going to play as the deep midfielder, but he doesn't, IMO, have the discipline to do that, and we shouldn't ask him to do it, for fear of losing those driving runs, with the ball. He looks very exciting going forward.
Redmond made a good impression and could have had four or five goals, on another day - cue the debate about his finishing skills.
Lots of pluses. Just hope some of our outfield players actually complete the full 90 minutes, against Bilbao, so that they are ready for Watford.

We had some nice passages of play, not quite the same intensity in the second half though. Pete looks a gem. Romeu was a beast (though a bit gung-ho at times). Tadic and Ward-Prowse lively. Austin doesn't suit this system at all (and didn't look particularly fit to me), Long didn't get much of a sniff, and JRod looked understandably Rusty. Gallagher nowhere to be seen.
Ideally I'd like to see an attacking (goal scoring please) midfielder/who can play on the wing or in the middle. And another striker in the Pelle mould. I'll be worried if the window shuts and we have neither.
