Yeah I've been thinking Hesketh has what it takes to step up this season from what I've seen this preseason.

I put that on the Academy thread (not that I'm mentioning it :)), but I liked that as well. Nigel used to watch with the first team squad and so did Pochettino....encourages the youngsters if they think managers are interested. I would be interested to know how many youth games Koeman watched (may be underestimating him....washes mouth out with soap), but you can't judge if you only watch a few. And youngsters may play a lot better if surrounded by the first team than when playing with others at their own level...that's why it is valuable to give them a chance training with the first team and even just travelling with the team to gain experience and increase their hunger.

If MoPo were still here, I'd have no doubt that Hesketh would have broken through by now. Remember him starting at Burnley and going off injured after looking bright.

Sorry didn't see that. I put it on here because we were talking about the game on this thread. If we put it everywhere, everyone will have to watch it. Curiosity will make them click. :D
