As you said earlier @ccfcremotesupport, we desperately need some quality at right back - someone who can cause problems for the opposition not just contain them. Shame Fredericks is out of the equation - he'd have been my choice. Docherty on the right at Wolves for instance can be a match winner not just a match saver.
The squad already looks stronger with these signings. Whether or not they are Prem standard we have to find out. As discussed above more signings in key positions still needed. Have I missed the list of departures? Seems late to announce who is leaving or where we are open to offers.
Here's your answer Bluey........... https://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/news/2018/june/cardiff-city-retained-and-released-lists/
Cheers Sparks There are 6 or 7 there we must be open to offers for or willing to let go for free if asked e.g. O'Keefe and Bogle for starters. P.S. Where is Gonzo? Has he gone already?
Gonzo will join that fabled list of woeful strikers we’ve had to suffer in recent times. Warren Feeney
Many of them will be lucky to get a game, I can see quite a few being sold or send out on loan. The thing is if they have time left on their contract they can pick up their wages until the end.
22 names on the list plus the 2 new signings. As you say BfB, you can lighten that by a few. Connolly might hang around though a few championship teams might be interested in his promotion record. Nearly as many as Colin. I also think pilks could be a useful squad player in the big league. Camp and Tomlin can go and it would probably be in the best interests of o'keefe and Healy to find game time elsewhere though I though healy might have had a breakthrough before his injury. The prem might be a step too far though. Boyle and kadeem might find game time hard to come by as well. Lose 4 from the 24 and we still need to find 5 players to fill our squad. Suppose there are 3 contract offers out as well. Hoilett being the key one.
WOL are claiming one more big money signing and then 2/3 from loans/free market to bring us up to Warnock six. Make what you will of that. Also think we should all take a moment to lament the loss of Greg
Looks like a 4-1-2-2-1 for Warnock. Junior may play as an inside forward on the right side cutting across behing the striker while Murphy will be an out and out winger on the left.
Stoke in for Hoilett - is that the "slight probem" that Warnock is talking about? http://the72.co.uk/105804/stoke-in-chase-for-cardiff-winger/
Can only be money related. Why else would he drop down a level? Unless he'd prefer winning games in the championship to losing in the prem. Either way, if that's where his head is at let him go. It would be a loss, but not insurmountable. Colin will be pissed with him though.
Shows a total lack of ambition and desire for more money, if correct. Hope it is not. He should be better than that.
Dan Gosling latest linked. Would be happy with that. Looks as though Bournemouth are looking to offload Arter so cant see them selling Gosling as well.
No way. He wouldn't drop a division. My in-laws are Cherries fans. They agree this is rubbish. More likely to come to us.
Bournemouth have splashed big on a midfielder. Arter struggled to get in their line up last season. I would say he is very likely to move on.
I agree he is likely to move. Was not getting on with Eddie Howe. But not backwards to the Championship. Another lower half Prem club probably. West Ham were interested 6 months ago. Potter likely to be using his knowledge and contacts for Swedish based players according to WoL https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...swansea-city-move-swedish-midfielder-14795131
Speaking of Bournemouth. WoL says they are likely to sign Jefferson Lerma, Columbian international, from Levante. If that happens we are up for signing Dan Gosling from Cherries for £5m. He has had injury problems in past but played a full season just gone. Liked by Cherries fans. However Howe would prefer to offload Arter first. My sources say Arter is looking to return to London. West Ham were favourites but Pellegrini may have a different view. If so then Fulham or Palace are possibilities.
Seem to remember a certain Mr. Solskjaer doing much the same from Norway - how did that work out?......
