Preparation for 2023-24 Season

I see Ainsworth has alreay shipped one out to Gillingham & one in from Brighton

 

Dom Gape has left after his contract ended,missed so many games through injury but will always be remembered for the winning goal at Chesterfield that got us promoted from League 2.

 

I am probably wrong about this, I always thought Gape was the same type of player as Scowen & Thompson, Freeman was the ball player in midfield

 

Well now we've lost Thompson,Gape and Freeman all great players for us,i'm not sure i trust Blooms to bring in good replacements but we'll see.

 

I always rated Alex Pattinson, who has been released by Harrogate hoping for league 1 football. 18 goals in 77 games isn’t a bad return from midfield.

sad to see Gape go, great player on his day, however injuries have won again.

 

That was in League 2 against some crap teams.

So we are fighting, with at least 3 other clubs, for a Northampton "ace" who managed just 22 games last season due to injury. At present he appears to heading to the Sottish Premier League, Portsmouth or Wycombe. Unless he has a clear dislike for Scotland we will probably be 4th choice

 

By the looks of things it’s going to be a long summer.

 

Wycombe are at home to Cardiff on Saturday July 29th for JJ's testimonial K/O 3 PM.
