With Shahid Khan becoming the 6th American owner of a Premier League club, after buying Fulham, not to mention the Arab, Russian and European (non British) owners we are looking at just shy of 50% of the premier clubs being owned by foreigners. Without becoming too xenophobic is this a good or bad thing? Yes some may say that we are losing the essence of the English game, but is there a place for such sentiment in the global game? The rest of the world has moved on, with many new footballing superpowers playing new non-traditional styles of football, is the notion of the English style simply outdated?
I will sum it up quite simply: Bleach your identity to create something new, until eventually you play around to much with the essence of who you are and die...
