People have been talking about this quite a lot on here, but isn't it a bit of a chimera? In reality, aren't most of the players outside the top few clubs simply skilful players who will make it in a good team but fail in a bad one? Take a few stars out of the picture - Aguero, Silva, Yaya Toure, Van Persie, etc - players who are out of our range, but equally out of range for almost every other team in the Prem - and I don't think there's that much difference between the rest.
Re. recent posts on other threads, why are Barton, SWP, Cisse etc any more 'premiership quality' than Pilkington or Eliot Bennett?
In the end, it's a team game, and we've survived comfortably because of the quality AND ATTITUDE of our squad. THEY are 'proven Premiership quality players' now (if the term actually means anything) and we should be incredibly proud of them.
