19 Aug 2013 19:29:10 Cardiff agree 2 million pound Loan fee with Chelsea for striker demba ba. Deal to be completed once blues sign there striking target. also believed he will travel to wales to watch them play man city on Sunday. http://www.football-rumours.co.uk/cardiff-rumours.php
Okay so they've just got to sign Rooney then. An interesting one. He certainly knows where the back of the net is (Ba I mean although of course Rooney does as well).
Where are our new signings? Another full back, attacking central midfielder, striker and winger needed.
. Well he'll come for the money, He'll come for the dough, He'll strip to get ready, Then go, Vaz, go... .
Anyone think Sundays statement of intent will now make Malky's recruitment drive easier than it has been so far this season?
It can only have positive effects but will they be enough to attract the right calibre of player? We seem to be chasing strikers still although the concensus on here remains for defenders/mid-fielders. But, hey, what do we know?
Latest news from Sky is that we're close to doing a deal for Ecuador winger Jefferson Montero. Don't know anything about him myself, any of you guys know him: http://www1.skysports.com/football/...n-talks-with-ecuador-winger-jefferson-montero
QV Rumours on this one started around 3 weeks or so ago but all had gone quiet and I saw something over the weekend to the fact that he had decided against the move. Wiki info from earlier this month: - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jefferson_Montero Could be useful if he is on his way. More variety put wide rather than more strikers.
Looks better than Ronaldo on youtube! That should be taken with a pinch of salt but he looks very direct (selfish), very quick and can shoot with both feet. Is a regular in the Ecudor side.
We need an out and out winger (either side) like Jeff Montero, and a right back with pace who can get up and down the touchline without breaking into a wheeze. Declan John can do it on the left, but Tayls is a very good reader of the game and deserves to be our number one in that slot. Not only that, but any new RB needs to have the ability to do something with the bloody ball when he gets up there - Kev is pathetic, and Connolly seems to need all the time in the world to make his mind up. Brayford was seen to be the answer, but from what we've witnessed pre-season, he's a long way off Prem standard and we can't afford to hang around until he is. We've got another 6 days to sort these slots if we can. I doubt he will be, but I hope Malky doesn't get pressured to bring anyone in who isn't up to it.
With players still going into Spurs, Lamela, Eriksen and Chiriches there is talk of Aaron Lennon leaving. If the Montero deal fails then a bid for Lennon wouldn't go amiss. Don't know what he would cost though. Cross reference Sparkey's thread about values.
With Cornelius being a bit of a disappointment injury wise, I question whether MM will want another big striker in as IMO Gestade is only a 10 minute impact player. Hope he does bring in Montero or Lennon or someone with pace and quality out wide. Plus still concerned big time with Connelly at full back against decent attacking full backs and wingers who will take him on and beat him with ease on the outside. Like also to see a more creative central midfielder to compete with Kim; Mutch is IMO not good enough. Gunner & Medel will be too concerned with breaking up opponents play. The Whittingham conundrum needs resolving. Where is his best position, and where would City get the best out of his undoubted talents? I'll be disappointed if he does not bring in at least a new winger and full back by 2nd sept. Loan players don't have the same commitment. The win on sunday surely would persuade Tan to sign a few more transfer cheques.
Talk about another 3 signings before the window closes, 3 days of every Tom, Dick & Harry wanted by Cardiff City. What's Tom, Dick & Harry in Spanish?
