Yes? No ? - is he the sort we need? Malky's Scottish influence could work. http://www1.skysports.com/football/...mounts-in-West-Brom-midfielder-Graham-Dorrans
Yes a very talented player but also very similar to Whitts. Not being played by the Baggies so would be cheaper than other players of his quality
If he isn't good enough for Brom, why should he be for us could be the question asked. Doesn't seem Brom are overflowing with super-talented midfielders to me - perhaps Dorrans just doesn't fit in with Clarke's philosophies and needs a fresh start under someone like Malky. Question would be - who would you leave out for him?
Nope, but he can play wide or central attacking mid better than almost everyone else in our squad. Brom finished 8th last season, no shame in taking a player that played 20 times for a side that finished 8th IMO. Of course we need fullbacks more, but I wouldn't be sad to see dorrans sign. Tbh I doubt were even interested and sky are just recycling whatever interest we apparently showed in jan.
Brom are a top 10 side and Dorrans is a class player, would happily have him in my team. Anywho, Ince in talks http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23239056
The Ince family appear to be a bunch of ditherers after reading the above article. Think he used to be indecisive but he's not so sure anymore !!
Would Ince be gauranteed a regular place in our team? I think yes based on his championship performances but having not been tested in the premier league who can promise him a regular start?
I guess that is one of the deal breakers though. I expect Malky would make that promise "as far as he possibly could". Probably Tom's Dad is driving these negotiations and if his style is anything like the way he played it will be a hard bargain. Just seen on BBC that Hudson has extended his contract to 2015, an extra year.
I think with us spending a third of our total transfer budget on him he's got as good a chance as anyone of being regular first team. Paul knows that no one at any club can be assured of a first team place regardless of form. I think they're stalling for a better offer from a 'bigger' club, add to that the fact it suits Paul down to the ground if Tom stays at Blackpool.
Very true Stevo. It all depends how much influence Tom wants his dad to have on his career and how much Tom wants to progress. If he stays at Blackpool and, for instance, got a long term injury that could be good bye to his higher level career and earning capacity. Come to us and those opportunities remain.
He just needs to look at Matt Phillips who was 'too good' for us 18 months ago.............. He knows what it's like to not get a look in at Liverpool, I think if it wasn't for his Dad being who he is and his club manager Tom would have already signed.
WoL say no decision expected today. I don't mind him taking his time. If he decides to join us then it is a well thought out decision rather than one made in haste. However, if he says no then it is not a crisis, we move on and I am sure Malky has a back up target - plus full backs, centre back and mid fielder mentioned elsewhere.
We may have a few options in midfield already, but this is a guy who could do us a job and can score from the back. http://www1.skysports.com/football/...gardner-is-a-target-for-premier-league-rivals
Could there be something with the Sunderland link? So far Cattermole, Colback and now Gardner have been mentioned. As for Oliviera, doesn't look like a good move to me. He is supposed to be a striker but only has 12 goals in 90+ games. I have seen him come on as sub for Benfica and Portugal and he looks gangly, awkward and not sure what he should be doing. He has been loaned out a couple of times so if he is coming perhaps that is the way to do it. But why would we need another striker unless he was absolutely top drawer?
Taken from Football365 "Jose Mourinho is planning to send Nathaniel Chalobah out on loan again and says he has been impressed with the midfielder during pre-season. "We are thinking of letting him go on loan for a last season," said Mourinho. "That is our intention. He knows. We have discussed that with him. "He is a very, very good player. I like him very much - very, very much. I am very impressed. For sure, a Chelsea player (in future), for sure. We think he is there. "He could be in our squad already. But we think one more season and it will be his last one out on loan. "We will see whether or not it is a Premier League club." We'll need more quality options in midfield, with Gunnar struggling to make the start of the season we could do alot worse imo.
Daily Mail say we are planning an ambitious bid for Tououse mid fielder Etienne Capoue. Valued at £10m. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Étienne_Capoue Defensive midfield or defender, a big unit at 6ft 2ins and a French international with 5 caps so far. Best get in quick before Arsenal or Newcastle look to add to their French Legionnaires.
