I thought United were your biggest threat to the Top 4.
Don't think anyone has said that. Arsenal have certainly been mentioned, but ManU, no. Their run-in is pretty bloody awful, just like Liverpool's. I expect both teams to hiccup, possibly badly enough to leave them outside the top four. We may take advantage, but we have to re-learn how to score.

Dick Advocaat confirmed as Sunderland boss .... he doesn't stand a snowball's chance

Interesting stat in the Express...only one of 14 PL managers coming in at this stage of the season improved the league position of the club with most making no difference. The advantage for Sunderland in those stats is that they are outside the relegation zone (just).

Typed all that out the other day. Not sure anyone saw it. Should have left it to Barclays, I suppose.

Anyway, perhaps members will now realise that interesting things are possible.

And what's this I hear that 7th place will be good enough for Europe anyway..? All depends on one of the remaining top 6 clubs in the FA Cup winning the trophy, I believe.

Wouldn't it be great if we secured our top 4 place by making Man City drop out of it..?

Didn't realise just how similar our run was to Spurs!

7 of the 9 games are the same, 1 is against one another and the other is against one of the Tyne/Wear duo.

Good test of our comparative strength.

The interesting run of games is for Spuds:

away to us
home to Citeh
away to Stoke

If we beat them and Citeh beat them .... then Stoke away becomes even tougher and it is tough anyway.

Us and Spurs have the 'easier' games. ManU has an awful run out when you consider that they are winning, but are not convincing...I can see them dropping back.

Makes a nice change not to be in the group at risk of relegation :)

Our games against the relegation teams are actually as hard as theirs against top four rivals, unfortunately.

You could say that our final run is very similar to our starting run. That worked out pretty well overall. Of course we all know that we werent really tested and only played the easy sides for the first 10 games. Looking forward to average of 2+ points per game.
