Can't believe people are on Chelsea's back about the manner of their victory....they won the league, live with it. Especially rich coming from boring, boring Arsenal fans who were known for winning 1-0 based on a terrific defence. I want Saints to win by entertaining us royally, but I'd bite your hand off if we could win the league in a few years time by any means fair or foul (because it goes on your record and stays there).

Absolutely agree. It's not as if they are remotely as boring as Boring Arsenal were when they thoroughly earned that nickname. In fact, Chelsea are moderately entertaining for a club I don't give a hoot about.

Arsenal's third goal was superb football, pure and simple. Great vision from Ramsey and a lovely run from Sanchez.

Someone on Sky (sorry, no idea who as I was in other room) has said that it may be better for Newcastle to be relegated and reborn...citing Saints as an example. Bad example...we had several poor seasons in the Championship before nearly going out of business...West Ham would be a better example as they came straight back up. Newcastle should beware that they don't emulate Leeds....big club, large fan base, but can't get promoted for love nor money. We were a perfect storm....if I was a Newcastle fan, I wouldn't risk my club on that happening again.

Indeed. Newcastle are a better buy as they are right now. Ashley clearly has no ambition beyond making a tidy profit so relegation is a non-starter. Perhaps he ought to make one last biggie and let someone in with the right attitude.

Ashley has Newcastle in a decent financial position, so he has done them a favour in that respect, but is failing now on the football side due to his lack of ambition. His idea of hanging around mid-table for ever and earning money is at risk if they don't start getting results. It would be time to sell if they save themselves this season, but he will only do that if he gets a nice payday. Perhaps his interest in Rangers was the first sign that he might be looking to move on. Toon fans will hope so.

Man Utd agree deal to sign Depay,

"Memphis has gone through all the teams of the PSV youth academy and has played an important part in the national title this year", and then they lose him at 21 years of age.... Dutch youth academy's are just conveyor belts really aren't they, price is reported to be 25-30£million.

Yet what is the difference between Kat and Ashley. Ashley hasn't wrote off any loan debt, Newcastle owe Ashley £129m.

Saw this on the Utd forum, they seem to be taking great delight that Depay apparently knocked back Liverpool's advances

He actually is a very good coach from what I've heard, just a **** manager.

Oh I agree, I have no doubt about that at all, just not sure it's what you should be saying in a pre-match presser after losing 8 in a row.
