I can't see the PL allowing them an emergency loan, given that they do have Rob Elliot and Karl Darlow. Looks like Elliot has been on their bench this season, but Darlow played in the cup (and he has been Forest's no.1 for the past two or three seasons).

Apparently Darlow has a foot injury. Have to raid the academy.

Michael Owen has likened his horses to Southampton...never going to compete with the big guys, but you can hope. I'm sure he didn't mean that as an insult, but if someone holds him down, I'll give him a kicking. o_O

Does he have a horse called Brenda, one called Bygone Times and another called Living in the Past?

    Boring Twat. *

*apologies to anyone who thinks I shouldn't call him a twat - never know who might be offended these days* :)

If you mean the British meaning and not the American (we are British after all) couldn't agree more.

Article from Ugly Inside reiterating about the outside forces stirring to try to unsettle players....in this case, Wanyama. Personally, I think it is more likely to be his agent or someone else close to the agent who is trying to keep the pot bubbling. The piece does finish by saying that (although we want to keep VW) we are reasonably positioned to cope if he leaves next summer. I suppose this is the clubs aim...we mustn't get over reliant on one or two players, but aim to be in a position to withstand a few losses every season. Spider was stopped because we needed him and had lost too many. He was allowed to go this season, together with Clyne, but we needed Mane (one always needs a Mane:)) and Victor (after losing Morgan). So the answer is that whilst you can't keep everyone, you need to let them go and be replaced in an ordered manner.

I put £100 on Sunderland being Nolans next club last week at around 5/4 when the Big Sam rumours first started. Since Sam confirmed down to 1/5 so I'm hoping I haven't wasted that money, the missus won't be happy if I have <laugh>

I thought Saints had said they won't sell to Spurs under any conditions? That was a story posted somewhere here a while back.

Those odds aren't all that different, are they? You'll win about a fiver more than you would if you put £100 on now? Seems a big risk to stake £100, though it's pretty much nailed on, I guess.

Not much different? 5/4 returns me £225 including stake. 1/5 would return 120 including stake. So quite a big difference actually. And yeah a bit of a risk but I'd be very suprised if he doesn't join them. Plus gambling is risky by definition is it not? Just when the odds around the evens mark it's not really worth a small stake.

He will join them, Sam will need someone on the inside when he finds out what a bunch of cretins they have assembled there!

And in several news articles. We'll see eventually, won't we.

Unfortunately don't see that being true, money talks at the end of the day and if they're his only suitors come the Summer n he wants it still I'm pretty sure we'll sell to them.

Dunno so much. Yes, we may sell him, but then we can dictate the terms. Just make him too costly for Spurs and they look elsewhere. No club has to sell, as Brendon Rodgers reminded us. :)

Besides, Spurs don't deal with real values of players. They might as well be using bubble gum confederate money.

Spurs also try deals with no up front money (Berahino) so it is of no benefit selling to them because you don't get sufficient finance in place to buy or develop replacement.

Yeah my point is would we do that though? If he has a year left n wants to go? Previous evidence suggests we would not.

Spurs have made themselves into a very special case. Besides, why sell to an immediate rival.? I'd sell him out of the PL, or if to Spurs, for an awful lot more than they think he's worth.

We let players go but only for a price acceptable to the club and that's never cheap. Spuds will be too tight to pay. Someone else will probably want him.
