City look poor. The Prem league is crazy this year.

I'm not going to say that this scoreline doesn't surprise me, because it does (it's away to City!). But I did say when the transfer window closed that I thought West Ham's summer dealings were right up there, that they'd had a better window than the vast majority of clubs, and that ultimately they now had a real capable squad. A notch below Everton's still, but able to match the likes of us and Swansea.

Payet is what makes West Ham tick. He is class, I haven't a clue why a bigger club didn't go in for him.

Same thing we had last year: a willingness to get people forward no matter the opposition or ground, and the confidence that their defense will hold firm. Away wins against City, Arsenal and Liverpool to start the season is pretty remarkable stuff, however.

Heh, yeah...with the way teams set up these days, can never let one's guard down. Leicester's joint top (with West Ham) in goals scored, and Bournemouth has some real attacking talent themselves.

I was optimistic we'd (WHU) get a draw, City have never been top notch after a European game, but we started last season just as well, and were in the CL places at Christmas. What happened after was an accumulation of events, starting with the November International break when we lost Valencia, Sakho, Downing and Song. I don;t think they ever returned to full fitness during the season, instead we had Nolan and Carroll return. A lot of fans saw it as Sam playing his favourites and a very vocal minority made their feelings known. Booing was heard at most games and the bad atmosphere affected the way the players played, they became very nervous.

Bilic is a good fit for the club, Allardyce wasn't because he never had the crowd. That's what has really changed at West Ham

Chelsea will make a £20m January bid for Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama, 24, in an effort to beat Tottenham to the signature of the former Celtic player. (Star on Sunday)

Southampton boss Ronald Koeman says a possible move for Sadio Mane, 23, to Manchester United was never discussed and the winger could get a new contract at St Mary's. (Sunday Mirror)

The answer about offers for Wanyama will be the same in January as now....and does anyone think Wanyama is good enough for Chelsea's aspirations? That's poppycock.

Advocaat made a big mistake coming back, should have retired on a high after saving Sunderland the last time.
