Fair to say that Madrid have suffered from the same thing with De Gea as Tottenham did with their pathetic Schneiderlin approach last year.

 

Madrid treated De Gea badly as it was all agreed and he was there. They may have tried to pass the blame to United, but they had been having cold feet all day without having the gumption to speak up. Apparently the GK coming in exchange contacted United later and asked if he was still going to them, so Madrid hadn't even spoken to their own player.

 

Interesting article in the Standard today regarding Capoue. Basically said he featured in MoPo's first eleven games in charge and then was dropped without explanation or suggestion as to how he could improve.

Sounds familiar doesn't it? About his lack of management ability for players outside the eleven

I am chuffed to bits that Adkins is getting the recognition that we all know he deserves...gave a nasty taste to see him given the bum's rush like that. There are ways of doing things and that wasn't it.

 

Nigel seems to be one of the few to have no bitterness. As usual, he sees all the positives.

Nigel's time at Southampton will probably be the pinnacle of his football career. He had a good career before he came here, but at Southampton everything came together...he was the right manager at the right time and he got greater financial support than he is ever likely to see again and sadly (unless he promotes another team) is unlikely to make the EPL again. However, Nigel with his great attitude will not mope as he has a way of seeing life that we all aspire to....and apparently his positivity was sorely tested by Nicola. As said, delighted we are acknowledging his contribution.

 

In terms of win percentages, Nigel is our most successful manager ever. He is undoubtedly one of the nicest people ever to be involved with football.
