No wait, that's not fair. He has improved, but everything I've seen/read says decision-making, intelligence etc is (still) bad.

Made a slight joke along those lines, above. But seriously, Arsenal have turned him into something stale and ineffective. Yes, I would have him back, but he'd have to come back upto speed. Squad player.

 

He'd probably thrive back here. But after a good season, who'd trust him to stay. Not me, he might as well cut out the middle man & sign for the scousers.

 

Must admit, that's a good point.

 

The ox and Walcott have not improved at all at arsenal - no better than they were with us; arguably worse. Arsenal seem to have no idea how to either improve them or get the best from them.

Think he was heavily influenced by his father back then.

Difficult to gauge how much of his poor form is confidence.
Being at Arsenal has definitely made him a less confident player. He has had no serious run in the first team.

Against Barca he lost composure with that great chance, he took a heavy touch when through which got him injured, but he was there most dangerous player. Seems he is in a similar position to Manè

I'd take him back in a heartbeat...he's better than Juanmi

 

I'd take him back if the Black Box says so. The recruitment boys look at players and try and decide if they fit us....he is still young enough to learn. Players can shine at one team and not look so good in another. Happy if we go for him, though can't see it happening.

 

I have to giggle at those saying Theo is no better. He was 16 here and played two fifths this of bugger all for us. I think there are some Saints coloured lenses being worn.

He may not have reached where people predicted he could get, but to say he's no different to the 16 year old version who we only saw play a handful of games really is a stretch, in my opinion.

I'd take the Ox back at the right price. He is still effective just maybe not as effective as he could have got to by now. As with Theo I think some views are Saints tainted on him.
