I would also question him bringing in only one left back(who is also very young and wasn't guaranteed to play straight away) and then let Figgy go out on loan? That to me makes no sense, if Robertson had played and been a bit inexperienced and didn't fit in straight away who was he hoping to play there? Most will say Rosie, but he's a right back not a left back, to play on the opposite side to which you're most comfortable is very difficult. Also I would question the signings of Maguire and Ince, I like them both but after one season in the Premier League we weren't in a position to be spending nearly 5 million on players for the future.
We can't buy a win ffs. 1 win in 13 games in all comps. We're sleep walking into a relegation fight, I keep thinking of Norwich..........
Whether you post it on here or another thread your thoughts are still invalid. Bruce is blaming nobody but injuries and with 6/7 first team players out its a fact.
What I said was, "When Bruce is under pressure he starts blaming the supporters, players etc and his tactics and substitutions become increasingly frustrating." I suppose it's how you interpret 'blaming'. "We gifted West Ham all three goals. The goalkeeper and Curtis Davies have to do better for the first goal. That was disappointing. The second goal was a gift from us as well. We were out of position. Then, the third goal was the same. We could have done better with all three of them." "It’s an awful mistake from the goalkeeper and he knows he should have done better." "At times, we were all over the place defensively.”
That's about the size of it. As some one else posted, the physio's got our best squad. I can see why some less knowledgable outsiders would want to claim differently, but the injuries have been a crucial factor. If it wasn't for Steve Bruce getting the best out of what we've got left, we'd be in a far worse position.
I certainly wouldn't claim it's all down to Bruce and nothing to do with injuries, "Sunderland have lost half of our significant players, to injury, but they're now coming back just at the right time. Sadly for Hull the opposite is true and after Christmas seems to be the time Bruce always flounders." Post 32 isn't saying much different to what I suggested to be fair.
We already had 4 left footed wingers/attacking midfielders. Bringing in two more seemed strange at the time. Especially when we only had 2 real strikers, and one was a foreign gamble.
as I'm sure has already been observed, we are playing last seasons Prem side minus a couple of players but crucially minus a good deal of confidence - Brucie hasn't helped by swapping and changing positions, falling out with one or two of the players and openly blaming the performance of one or two players to the press whilst at the same time telling the press that his son never lets anyone down and always gives 100% - hardly the best way to motivate the squad when he needs them the most
