Have a theory Arsenal would improve if Emery switches to 3 CB's as Luiz always looks better with that formation plus Maitland-Niles is no FB & would be much more effective as RWB .
If they stay as a back 4 they need Tierney & Bellerin available asap and to do huge amount of work on the training pitch with the MF re screening the defence.

 

I agree that Luiz looks better in a 3. In their current set up he’s a liability and is better placed as a DM than a CB. Has Emery any history of playing a back 3?

Luiz has always been a terrible defender, he's just decent at moving forward with the ball. No way a top 6 team should be relying on him in a two-CB system and tbh, why force your team to adopt a three-CB system just to put him in the line up and cover for his deficiencies? Just play a proper DM and drop Luiz altogether.
