Seems like they’ve said its to stop fake merch etc and won’t be used to stop local shops etc using the name liverpool but problem is verbal agreement on that means nothing rewlly.
Well I have red shirts that say Liverpool on them. It doesn't mention Liverpool Football club, but it's obvious it is referencing that. Presumably those are the shirts they want to stamp out.
The club have said they're not looking to go after the local stands that set up on matchdays selling scarves, it's the massive fake foreign merchandise they want to put a stop to. I don't know how they do that because it's so widespread. They can start by going after the online fake goods I suppose because there will be a source to those.
They could do it fairly easily; stop ripping the fans off and make them affordable to buy through regular means! £60 for a shirt ffs
That won't stop thousands of fake shirts being sold in Asia (for example) to Asian fans who have never been nor will go to a game but want a small piece of LFC and for which the club won't see a penny. The club obviously don't want merchandise with the club's name on, for which they own the intellectual property, being made and sold and bypassing their coffers. It's about owning the trademark to certain things connected to the club like their version of the liver bird which is already trademarked. It's contentious because it's also the name of the city they now want to trademark. I can see both sides of the argument.
Only like Man Utd claiming "United", plenty of other clubs use that party of their name. I'd have thought the branding would be Liverpool Football Club or Liverpool FC
I don't know specifically other than what's available to read about it which just says 'Liverpool'. For a bit of context man utd own 413 trademarks, Burnley own 7. Neymar has the most trademarks of any top player - don't ask me to name them it's just something I read
If Sane and Pogba are both sold abroad this window, Harry Kane will be the only player in the Prem with a trademark to his name. Salah has no trademarks registered to him.
BBC transfer news live ..........A MU fan says 'I would rather pay £90m for Maguire than a 1 season wonder VVD for £75m+' He even got Virgils price wrong
You've got to laugh haven't you As a sidenote - I'd rather this type of tribal utterances than some of the other hate filled stuff doing the rounds.
Fair play to Everton, think Kean could be a quality player. The worry would be Juve getting a buy-back clause in
