Premier League (the governing body) want to buy the Womens league.

Could mean the English women's game suddenly comes into alot of money.

Not sure, all the money comes from TV revenue and international broadcasting, can’t see women’s premier league getting s lot of air time in England and abroad.

Saying that, been quite nice watching on bbc and do think women’s game has had a lot more interest in last few weeks. Get the feeling it’s like rugby and cricket where people will be interested in England but not so much the club games.

Didn't mind that miss one bit. Too bad we gave him another opportunity to redeem himself. It has been a **** AFCON though.

The utd effect is to push up the price of every average player out there. When Ronaldo went to Madrid is was silly money but he was the best in the world, at least you could see the point.

Now utd throw silly money at bang average players. If Maguire is worth 90million every team will now value there CB at at least 50, regardless of how ****e they are.

City buy Rodri bringing their net spend to -600million since 2015.
United have now spent -421million since 2015.
    (Incidentally...Everton third with -198mill, Arsenal -178mill, Brighton -169mill, Bournemouth -168mill, Wolves -164mill, West Ham -151mill, Chelsea -145mill, Liverpool -116mill...)

Now obviously there's lots to consider here: PL TV rights is around 100mill per season, then there's prize money and the quite tiny (relatively) amount from gates. But wages are the big money sink aside from transfers.

"In absolute terms, Manchester United underwrote the largest salary bill, an estimated £296M in 2017/18. Liverpool costs were £263M with Manchester City at £260M . Chelsea’s wages costs were £244M and Arsenal’s £223M . When it comes to value for money it is hard to beat Spurs’ wage bill of £147.6M ."

So you've got City making 150mill from the PL TV and prize money and around 70mill from Europe this season but spending 260mill annually on wages so at a 40mill loss already. Then they're spending around 120mill net per season on average too on transfers for the last 5 years. Napkin maths puts that at 160mill loss per season.

Oh, but sponsorship! Their new main kit sponsorship deal this season is worth around 55million per season bringing us to a 105mill loss per season, or using FFP's three year cycle, a loss of 315 over three years compared to the 105mill they're allowed. Are their other sponsorships really so lucrative to make up 210million over three years? Absolutely ****ing no chance. Disgraceful how they're allowed to get away with this.

    I personally question those wages.

No city players get poached by real and Barca. None whine about money when Utd players are getting Barca money.

I just think if someone did dig deeper they'd find a rats best of tax avoiding payments through companies in Dubai... like how guardiola was furious he was ask was he getting paid twice but didn't deny it.

Imo the Spanish authorities have done for a lot of players and got their money but the English tax man doesn't seem too bothered

Fair play to him for believing in himself but I think Lampard just potentially committed Manager career suicide.

Chelsea aren't what they were, have a transfer ban and their owner seems to have gotten bored.

Crazy to join then atm imo

It's an interesting one, will he get more time because of the circumstances there?

    I have to agree.

equally the opportunity may never come or next season he may flop at derby and get sacked. Derby after all is built on a few loan delas and no money.

I think he's mad to go to cheslea now and he will only last 18months... thats the best he can hope for plus hazard is gone.... he has to win a trophy to take to his next job cos no way he gets 3 years at cheslea... they just have not the patience.

Can he get 4th and can he get a trophy.

    Team cuold be:

    Kepa
    Azpi Luiz Rudger Alonso
    Kante Jorginho
    Willian/odoi Pedro Pulisic
    Morata/Giroud.

If the fans stop absuing their own players and get behind lampard and he taes back in morata I stil lthink they've a very good first 11. They could easily breeze 4th.

    Spurs for 3rd
    Utd and cheslea for 4th/5th
Arsenal have work to do. to join the party.

    I HOPE

One of the things that will transform Chelsea is if Kante goes back into DM to protect Jorginho (Bit like Masch and Alonso) that will give them a base to play from and protect their back 4

Purposely didn't mention Hazard because he's not a team player and IF they hadn't have got a transfer ban, it would have a been a good thing imo. They've got Pulisic coming in to replace anyway mind

it's the obvious move. anyone who does that will enable them to push alonso on and protect that soft centre back situation.
