Whilst it is great that the unprecedented quad that we have been hearing all season is not actually going to happen, I suspect City will batter Spurs at the weekend in vengeance. That or they fall apart I hope the latter
But think of the confidence that it'll give Spurs. They've beaten City in the first leg, clawed back in the second leg to go through on away goals after seeing City's dying minute goal, and all the emotion that comes with it, be wiped out. They know they're there for the beating
Meh could argue either way. City win you say it’s bad as gives them confidence of winning again. Spurs win you say it gives city revenge to beat them at weekend. Wont ever know
Like I say you can argue either way. Coukd sy that, or could say that they’re be deflated after going out of the competition they wanted most
I think that's them winning PL without doubt now. I thought they would sneak but with no distractions...
Most that squad have won the PL before, it's nothing new. It's the CL they're desperate for - that Pep and the owners are desperate for. Another season and another failed European attempt. I think it'll hit them hard and it'll be tough to pick themselves up again, especially with the next two games they have
at this stage you tend to play your best players in CL in preference to Pl if they can only do 1 or the other.
Citys bench walk into everyone’s first team so makes no difference. Psychology is very important in football and it could take a lot for pep to pick his players up for the weekend. Drop points, even a draw, and suddenly they’re out of the CL, and assuming we beat Cardiff, suddenly looking like missing out on Prem as well and then we really see what they are made of.
Spurs aren't guarenteed CL football for sure next season yet, I doubt they will gamble all their eggs on winning it. Just saw the disallowed goal - there is a gnats cock in that.
It's not just Man City either, will Spurs have one eye on CL come Saturday? IMO, Man City going through would have been the better scenario for our PL campaign. However, it is what it is...
Dont underatand why.. if city win, sure could say maybe it’s bad result. But if cuty had won 4-0 tonight, would we be saying excellent, spurs now have a great chance of winning on Saturday? No... surely spurs going into the game on a high is better than spurs going j to the game having been hammered
Spurs are running on empty as they have hardly any Cm's left standing however you never know as they will be bouncing. Edit - my reference to selection was re City not Spurs as they have little choice but play whoever is fit.
I think its good for us Citeh being beaten. Surely Spurs will be full of confidence and Pep will have to try to pick up those players for another push. A good result for football in general. It could cost them everything
