Generally as a rule I want the English sides to win BUT I would love the chance for us to face Barca Not certain we will get through but would love to meet Barca in the semi Mouthwatering
yeah. it's win/win. the though of Utd in sf isnt all that. we've beaten them already in recent years. we've not played Barca in a good while as I recall and never with messi etc in this level. it's the sort of tie you want.... plus the other side of the win is utd go out in qf.
IF we get through to the semi finals and IF we play Barcelona in those games and IF Barcelona play anything like tonight, then I would seriously fancy ourselves.
I note the Salford press feel Suarez and messi have dived to try get smalling sent off. and Utd won the moral victory or something
in the end the tie is still alive and Utd only need 1 goal. not easy of course but it coudve been worse.
No they don’t? 1 goal would mean they’d lose on penalties, making an assumption that Barca don’t score in 120 minutes of football at home. Don’t know myself but interested to know the last time Barca lost 1-0 at home
They can afford to lose by one goal though, especially if they manage to score; unlikely considering they haven't created a chance at home.
one goal and it's.game.on. why would they lose on pens? de gea is just that bad? It's can't concede any more away goals so if they get one then it's all to play for. really it's have to play the percentages and see what they can get. it only takes a moment or a mistake. 1-0 great 1-2 miraculous but brilliant. in the end 1-3 away from home happened last round... thats football. as I said I wouldn't bet a penny on it but the tie is far from over.
Well if United only score 1 goal, best case scenario means it goes to pen as it’s 1-1 on aggregate. And then United would have missed all their pens meaning that Barca would win on penalties.
I wasn’t that impressed with Barca - their defence can be got at but if we do end up playing them next we’d need to make the home game count.
